From the postal stamp on the box June 3, 2008 is the anniversary date.

I replaced my old hinges the other day too.  Amazing difference how that tour pack looks now.  I almost don't mind it on now. Went on easy enough but a second pair of hands is a huge help. Don't know how anyone got theirs back on by themselves alone. I better tell Bob (Boatman) about these..  And reasonable too for a change. ;D

The caveman is waiting for all those that graciously provided said hinges to be at the same place at the same time to properly instruct the "Caveman" on how they should be installed.... "Caveman" will supply the :drink:.

With the help of my son and all the great tips that have been shared on this site I finished the installation of the new latches. As said before these should come standard on the CVO. They really ad a better look and function than OE ones for sure. Just a couple of new pointers we used a 1/2 inch combination wrench (closed end) to hold back the wheather stripping drilling inside opening in wrench and it worked very well. Also picked up some Velcros material and added a few extra pieces to the top and bottom for the tour pack liners.

Have a Great Day!

Changed mine today...and did it solo. I used some blue Scotch painters tape around the hinge area on the outside of the tourpak just in case I slipped. Really wasn't bad. Plus, I temporarily inserted all four top tourpak screws in place using some tape before aligning the lid. Once I got the first screw on the first hinge started the opposite side was easy to align.

Gotta admit...it really looks better.  :)

I did mine yesterday and thanks to all of you it went great.  I also did it solo thanks to Jerry/MD for the confidence to get it done by myself.
By using the painters tape for protection it did not seem as risky.  Another project made easier by CVOHARLEY.
