The 1st ride of the new season
« on: March 07, 2009, 05:35:33 PM »

Well last night I declared winter officially over.
The seeg has been on the tender for a week.

It is time to rotate the snowblowers and the bikes in the garage. (OK so I am hedging my bets here... I only swapped 1 set around :coolblue:)

The bike started rite up this week unlike last week where it was stone cold dead.

Where did I go on this 1st ride?

It doesn't matter  :huepfenjump3:
I got out and got in 60 miles.
It started off slow as the controls and actions and reactions that have been in hibernation for several months started to wear off.
By the end of the ride I was starting to scrape my boots and everything was feeling right in the world again.

There is just something about a ride to nowhere to invigorate the senses.

:drink: Here is to hoping you get your 1st ride in sooner rather than later if you have not already done so. :2vrolijk_21:

I should have headed up your way!

About noon I headed east to Cape Cod.  Made it to West Yarmouth...about 135mile roundtrip and $8 in gas....first ride of the season....priceless!

/Bill

P.S.  I keep the Battery Tender Jr. on all winter long.

Should have!!!!

As for the tender....the "other" bike started last week no problem and I only rode it it a few times since July.
The seeg was last on the road in Nov.
go figure :nixweiss:

Played hooky on friday and 8 of us got in about 180 miles, lunch stop and a licorice store, Im a glutton for red rasberry.
My wingman, wife, and I headed out yesterday morning, road to Birmingham AL, and back, forgot lunch, went to Riders H-D, the orphanage my baby came from.
Great ride, tuneage was great, windshield suc'd. 400 miles all in
Today, well, we'll see what happens, my wingwoman has to work,

That's great news! We're usually about 2 weeks behind the spring weather trends in MA. Can't wait to get on the road. It's about 52 F here, but there is so much snow melt, mixed with all that salt and sand, on the roads right now.  The time is coming though, and I'm soooooooooo anxious!

Well Ive been riding on and off all winter when I could !!!!! LOL
But today me and four other people rode from Queens N.Y. to Marcus Dairy in Ct..
Then back to Howard Beach Queens, then I rode home to Astoria Queens where I live.
Close to 150 miles and I must say I returned home a very content and Serene person,
ready to face the work week with a smile on my face. Pretty good for the first big ride
of the season, if you ask me. "Come on good weather"

Congrats all who got to ride.

LarryB, I wish I coulda gone with ya on Friday. I played hooky from work to... to go see the doc. My back's been screwed up for two weeks now. It's gotten better since Friday, but... Friday the doc told me I've got three stones and I'm gonna have to have ultra-sound to bust 'em up. The first round in Tuesday at 6am.

Since I wasn't gonna be in any shape to ride this weekend, despite the freakin' gorgeous weather, I dropped my SERG at the dealer on Friday to have the CB and Intercome installed. Of course, as expected, my back was much better yesterday. I called this afternoon to see when they would be done and the service manager told me, "Well, we'll probably start on it tomorrow..."

DOH!

This might come as a surprise to many of you, but the weather here in California has not been cooperating very well. M - F, sunshine, weekends Rain. So, I finally got to string in back to back riding days. Did 225 miles on Saturday, and 130 miles today. My new SERG is really starting to come into her own as she breaks in. Cleared the 2k mark today and you can feel the motor and drivetrain starting to loosen up.
