Okay help me out here, this is an "upgrade" i have never heard of. It looks like the benefits are reducing vibration...anything else?
And my next questions.. are they difficult to swap?

The main difference is reducing the vibration and just in knowing that you are installing a better part on your bike. Like I said, they should be standard.
By removing the lower fairing cap where the ignition is located, you can do the work from the bottom side risor bolts. The handlebars do not have to be removed but you need another set of hands to hold the bars and get everythinmg back in alignment and torqued.
I wouldn't do it on a brand new bike, but if you ever do handlebar work or have the lower fairing cap off, they are a nice upgrade.
