The 32 intake closes at 46 deg compared to the 54 closing at 42 deg. I would really like to see an intake closing of about 40 deg so the bottom end would hit a little harder. The 32 would work very well at about 10-10.5 comp. Out here in the AZ desert at 400' elevation running crap 91 octane gas, you can't get away with that much comp. I run my own stuff at about 9.6-9.8 max on the compression.

Steve

Why not use the SE 255? Loads of bottom end in the 110, I would assume something similar from a 96.

personally, I would love to hear feedback on the 255s in a 96. i moved my Street Glide to 103 with the 255s and I love it. It runs out of steam pretty early (4500-5000 range it really drops off) but it pulls like it was shot out of a cannon in the ranges where I normally ride. My Deuce runs HQ33s with 11:1 compression and it pulls hard all the way up to the redline which I set at 7000. I think my SG would hold it's own in the lower rpms. The SG being a heavier bike really moves well with the torque of the 255s down low. I'm curious how they would work with a 96.

The 255 is a great early torque cam. I'm looking for a little more mid range after I go 107" with some head work.

Steve,

The 107" part of your equation changes things significantly! :2vrolijk_21:
Looking forward to hearing about your progress.

OK Steve....."soon" is kinda relative...lol.  I'm itching to toss in a set of cams into my new '09 96" Road Glide to add to your 2" recores with TTS Mastertune.  Needless to say, your test of the 54 cams has my interest.  That cam looks great on paper for these bikes.

Hey there Steve....!
Did you get around to installing the 54's in you bike yet??

The 54 install is on for next week. I have been waiting for a few special tools to show up from Zanotties. I broke down and ordered the Harley Wrench set for the rocker boxes and the cam sprocket tool for locking up the cam during the retorque. Should have some dyno runs by the end of the week.

The new website looks great.  You go a little overboard with the safety equipment though...no helmet and shorts.  Not that there's anything wrong with that! :orange:

Bare feet, shorts, and no shirt was all I needed for safety equipment while biking and skateboarding when I was a kid....whatever happened to the simple life? :huepfenjump3:   The picture above of those boys on their Schwinn bikes really brings up some fond memories.....well, except for the paranoid kid with the helmet  :nervous:

How are you coming with the new head pipe for the 2009 CVO's?

Glad you like your Baffles Dave. The 2 into 1 into 2 09 headpipe project is officially scrapped. Bottom line. After testing numerous different combinations, the best one only made 2 HP more than a stock non cat headpipe. And of course that was the first one I made, all the others made the same or less power. The stock non cat headpipe is a lot better than we all thought. Its not the first time I have seen some goofy ass looking factory exhaust work really well. I'm sure I could have sold hundreds, but I'm not in the business of selling parts that "look" fast. The good news is, my 2 into 1 from the burn out videos mashes the stock headpipe on the bottom end.  I'll be back on that project soon trying to get the heatshields made. Thanks for your interest.

Here's prototype number 2 fitted with the stock heat shields. It went in the trash too. Sure looked faster didn't it? Lol..

Thank you very much for the reply Steve.

I guess if I do not find a stock 96 non cat head pipe at a reasonable cost I will have to have mine cut and cleaned of cat then re welded.

Sure is nice to have an honest vendor.

More than happy to chop yours up. Your next best option is Zanotties. Brand new non cat headpipe, 314.00.
