PJ, sorry to hear you had trouble too. I have actually decided to just turn my back on the stealth line altogether. I replaced my stealth heated grips - yes had to be rewired - with the flames.  They match the windshield and saddlebag hinges (That have to be kept locked or won't stay closed.)  My initial stealth heated grips lost all of their chrome.

Mrs. We - thanks for the info.  BTW, noticed you did something I'm considering.  Looks like you've got a Corbin seat with solo tour pak rack.  Can you take a pic of the bike with the tour pak down?  Also, I wanted to use a Classic Solo seat, but Corbin's website says it won't work with the HD solo rack.  Your saddle appears to be a Hollywood solo.  Nice looking bike!!! It is a very very tight fit.  I have not decided if I like the pad that came with our bike or if I want a smaller one.  I don't know why I have such a hard time making decisions some times.  I want to get a tan ostrich seat from corbin to fit our bikes, mine is off my ole road king and the tour pak pad to match, but I am just not convinced this is all the right direction to go.  The seat is not perfect, you cannot sit all the way back in it with the tourpak the way that it is with the pad all poofy. I think that the smaller pad will allow you to sit a bit further back on the seat.

yup; stock is 32", wo575 = 36", flanders = 31"

Wild 1's web site states the 575's are 34.5" wide. Is this wrong?

Laker, I don't know how they measure them.
  • If you go from extreme outside to extreme outside, they are 36".
  • if you go from just on the outside of the switch housings they are 28"
  • If you go from the center of the grip to the center of the grip which is where my hands hold the grips, they are 32".

So I feel that my hands are 32" apart from each other the way I hold the Wild One 575 when I am riding.

Mrs We, have you seen the newest flamed grips?  Just think how these would look on a bike with reds and gold?

Now these are way cool!  I love them.  Are these HD parts and are they heated?  I won't buy new ones when what I have works, but if they break again in the future...... I just pray I can keep getting warrantly replacements.

Laker; I measured my wo 575's right at 36" tip to tip.

Pj57; sorry to have to tell you this but you can't replace just the grips. Unless you are a very tricky and inventive person, it's all got to come back out so the new wires can be threaded through the bars.  :(

Yes there is a new "A" version of the stealth heated grips. Mine finally got here today after being backordered almost 2 months.   :o

The chrome on my throttle grip also wore through even though I almost always wear gloves. :'(

Mobe - I was hoping for a better answer :'(  Do you have the updated/upgraded grips in hand because my dealer is saying they are on national backorder with no release date given.  Hopefully they're starting to distribute the new ones.  PJ
