One other thing that might help with passenger comfort. This CVO is my 7th Ultra and I've made this easy alteration on each one giving a bit more width for the passenger seat width. You can remove the rear speakers and drill new holes and move each speaker half an inch outward giving the passenger an extra inch in width.
Hi Egultrac, Well
what a day there was two of us working on my CVO and we printed off what you said re
re drilling the 4 holes in the tour pack bracket. All I can say is your bike must be different to mine!
First of all you mentioned
2" more room you can't drill that far back from the stock holes as there just is not that much room. Also the rear holes hit the chrome horse shoe bracket we did drill them though and the black base plate drilling all four holes and filing them out . Remember the original holes have the nuts welded in place ready for the bolts.
So we had to grind the rear nuts a slight flat on to go near the chrome horse shoe bracket,
"Not very easy!We persisted and the continued now with 4 fresh holes which in effect would give us about 3/4" more room when completed.
Then we lowered the tourpack into position ready to drill the new holes in it! "Horror we find that there is a little rectangular square in the middle of the tourpack with horizontel raised ribbed lines, these go in place on the black bracket and the chrome horse shoe bracket, thus stopping the tourpack from being put futher back! We could have raised the bracket making a gap between the bracket and the tour pack but that would have looked awful and perhaps unsafe so we re fitted everything back to stock. Its for sure that you can't move or redrill or re vamp the stock bracket in any shape or form to make more room.... I can only think you have a different model bike than me. (or at least a different tourpack fitting bracket)
We then looked at the suggestion of moving the rear speakers and to re drill them We agreed the gain is to neglegable so we left them.
Then we fitted the nice new proper tourpack chrome hinges.... All OK happy with them.

Then we fitted the rear rack spoiler light and that went OK and happy with that.

Then we fitted the chrome speaker surrounds OK happy with them.

Finlay on re fitting the seat I dropped the screw and washer that fasten the rear part of the seat to the rear fender! cant find it anywhere so its not finished. need to find it or get another.../
UNFORTUNATLEY we did struggle a little as all the HD is AF spanner and such and the nuts and bolts are AF we of course in the UK are metric and its not easy tooling up for them all especially nut and bolts taps and dies tourxe screw's etc...
So I am a little disappointed in the fact that the
tourpack has not been a success guess I will keep looking into a fix for it...just so we can have a little more room.. The Kuryakyn bracket don't work cos I was at my local HD shop and they were struggling with a 2009 Glide too!
