i took delivery of my 06 flhtcuse with much dismay!
the pant has flaws in it and my dealer is not doing much about it.
the bike was 2 months late because of paint problems, i wish they
had it back.

Hmmm, IMHO thats a pretty lenient attitude considering these are $32,000 motorcycles.

I know, and I normally would be just as upset as anyone else about paint flaws.

Update

I finally picked up tour pack lid, the dealer let me install it myself as he already knew how particular I would be with the spoiler install and the rewiring I had done.

Put the new lid on, looked OK, little odd on the fit, but I think once it is locked down for a while it will "set" in place.

At first it looked like a different shade, but I figured once it stopped raining I would see how it looks in the sun.

Outside I compared the two lids, they seemed to be the same shade, I guess my view of the two pieces being on different angles was the reason for the apparent shade difference.

But - when looking at the top of the lid in the sun I couldn't believe the swirl marks I saw. My original lid, which was a year old, been washed half dozen times and waxed a dozen looked perfect compared to the new $800 part.

I showed the dealer when I dropped off the bike for warranty issues yesterday and he just shook his head.

If the replacement parts come out of the same paint shop as the originals why doesn't it look like it?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

My CUSE (blk/slt/crim) has swirl marks all over it.  Almost as many as a good MAACO paint job! :o  Tough to believe the moco has let the paint shop deteriorate to the level it has.  I guess I should be thankful that I have very little of the milky spots that many others have.  Maybe some elbow grease and some Meguire's will take the swirls out.

I would agree there is certainley a problem with the custom paint jobs on the CVO's.  I actually just got back from a tour of the CVO plant in York and the tour guide told us a compnay in CA painted the tins.  My 04 S.E. Deuce needed to have the rear swing arm replaced because of a spot where there was no paint.  My 06 S.E. Fatboy is having the tank replaced because someone etched marks in the metal grind accent section so they knew where to place the "Harley Davidson" decal and then forgot to remove them before clearing.  If your not getting anyhwere with your dealer, call customer service and shoot them a few pics, maybe that will get you further.
