Going with a 2 into 1 on touring bikes would be disastrous and the Mo Co understands that. Most owners of HD touring bikes love the balanced look of the dual exhaust setup. Can anyone imagine a Hemi Challenger or Mustang GT with a single exhaust? I know some riders like the 2 into 1 setup and I've tried it on a past Ultra but from a strictly cosmetic point of view it did nothing for me. The left exhaust already is a type of ghost pipe because most of the exhaust flows through the right side. The new '09 exhaust is cleaner, mildly cooler, is far less prone to exhaust leaks and so far I haven't of cracked headers on the new setup. With all the changes to '09 touring models it is difficult to believe the MoCo will make any major changes (other than to the engine) for the next several years.
On the other hand, who really knows?? I'm just looking forward to seeing the 2010 CVO Ultra and CVO Streetglide!!
Our 09's are already 2 into 1, this is what I believe they are referring to. Coming back out to dual mufflers will stay around. The CC is a waste of money, we already pay extra to buy a bike in Cali, between the taxes, emissions and everything else. Look at cars that have had CC for years even the 500 H.P. mercedes has multiple CC on them. We can't get away from it in our great Country of California...... The 2010 Road Glide is going away and the rumor is as previously stated the baggers are moving to Water Cooled Engines....Some say next year we will see the first some say the V-Rod Engine has been beefed up to handle the torque required for the low end of pulling the weight and will be shown this weekend in Denver, wish I was a dealer or at least a fly on the wall in the Convention Center....
