Don't you guy's get it....HD monitors this site to test what will fly. A few rumor's thrown reaps excellent feed back within days! Will water cooling be part of the 2010 line up? All of the other brands did it. I wonder what the radiator chrome trim is going to run for the new Sturgiscade 1800? :huepfenjump3:
Average development time of a new engine is probably 36 months. So, unless you have posted your desires here three years ago, get ready to put your deposit down for the 2012 models.

Ride safely,

I think we're sailing into the doledrums as for as MoCo sales.  I believe they'll drastically scale back production to only the high sellers like the Street Glide, Cross Bones, some of the sporties like the Nightster, Heritage Softail Classic, Ultra and a couple others in the other lines.  The problem is, they offer too many choices now to be proffitable IMHO.

On the CVO side, I see the SEUC, SERG and maybe a Street Glide version cutting out the Ultra.  They could take the SERG and do a full-on SE Tourglide Ultra Classic and I think it might sell pretty well but its hard to say there cuz the majority of Harley touring folk are partial to the batwing.

he SERG has gone a long way in pulling in new fans of the Shark Fairing but I fear it hasn't yet come into the mainstream harlyite acceptable category.  Anyhoo, when they do release the official lineup, it will either be very exciting or a shocking disappointment....

For what it is worth, I heard the same thing at a local dealer in Washington State on Saturday.  When I heard it I thought the dealer was trying to sell the one SERG (yellow) he had in stock.  He did not metion the other models.  Like others I even suggested to him that maybe the standard RG maybe but continue with the CVO model as they did with the FXSTS Springer Softail.  Who knows?

My choice for an 09 bike was easy, I wanted a full dress touring machine.
I wanted all the whistles and bells included. And I didn't want to buy them separately to install later.
I wanted Tour Pack, lowers, cb, intercom, rear speakers, heated seat and heated grips.
If the 09 SERG had that I would be riding one of those instead of the SEUC.
I purchased an 09 bike that met my needs regardless of how the fairing was mounted.

So until the 2013 110th Anniversary watercooled full dressed Screaming Eagle bagger in silver and black comes out I'm good.

 :2vrolijk_21:

01 SERG + 4 years = 05 SEEG + 4 years = 09 SEUC + 4 years = 2013 SE??
03 100th Anniversary silver and black + 10 years = 2013 110th Anniversary w/c full dressed  SE?? in silver and black.
There is a method to the madness!

My point exactly! 15 minutes after H-D pulled the cover off of the V-Rod, folks began clamoring for a liquid cooled touring machine. I’m telling you, Milwaukee is making this stuff out of unobtainum; these things are almost impossible to get. Get your orders in before April 1! :)

I must have been at the same dealer on Sunday.  I saw the yellow and Frank gave me the same skinny on the FLTR being discontinued after 2009.  I thought I wanted the yellow, but now I'm not sure.   That black (standard FLTR) 2 bikes over was sure nice, but it didn't have ABS.

It's all just psychological pre-sales hype.......so that whatever they do come out with, the consumer will be more readily accepting from the start.

I find it hard to believe that they'll stop the Road Glide all together.....but rather just some changes to it.  And if they do stop it.......makes me wonder what they have in mind for when they bring it back in a year or two?

I don't know what the 2010 CVO line up will be but I know it's gonna be over the top. :2vrolijk_21:

Lets say they do stop the FLTR all together in 09, and no SERG for 2010.   Sure will make the 09 SERG the bike to have :)

It sounds like the Road Glide is going full touring. I'm sure there will be a shark nose bike but maybe with the factory installed tour pak. I guess Harley figures you can strip them down if you want, as oppose to building them up. Make sense to me. Now the CVO version of this bike is going to be just what the doctor ordered for some.

About 3 1/2 months from now and the cat will be "officially" out the bag.

Like the old Tour Glide.

Didn't say that ALL traditional touring folk were partial to the batwing...just most...for now.

You did spark a thought though.  The MoCo could in fact do the FLTRUC (Tourglide Ultra Classic) make a CVO version, and drop the Batwing ultra in favor of the slick Street Glide with a CVO version done up much like our SERGs with the 18" wheels and the like.  I'd really like to know how the 09SERG has stacked up against the SEUC in sales.  I'd also like to know how many FLTR & FLTRSE3 folks have "Toured-up" their bikes.  I'll bet the MoCo knows.
