on the sidecar thread there was a guy last year that got a ultra with abs and had a tle mounted to it. the dealer was totaly clueless - you need to find folks that really know how to do it and do it properly.
liberty sidecars look cooler, cost as much. have a rigid mount, but a sprung sidecar wheel, you have to weld a nut onto the frame - ultra wiring in the sidecar wont work - ie no headset, no sound controls, no cb etc
hd sidecars will fit perfect, no welding - the wheel is rigid - all the sidecar controls for sound, cb, xm, etc work just like the riders. my wife has a bad back - cant ride the bike more than 15 mins - but can ride in the hack all day - very cushy ride.
in either case - if the sidecar is going to stay on the bike GET A RAKED SIDECAR/TRIKE tree - otherwise they steer like a buldozer. steering is terribly strong arm if you stick with the stock tree - many folks buy a hd sidecar and take it off the second day because they cant steer it - you NEED the tree - but once the tree is on it cant be riden as a solo bike.. hard choice.
if you go with a sidecar - get all the manuals, do it properly, never have the back seat passenger be larger than the sidecar passenger or you will crash, get toe in right, lean out right. do the tree, once set you can set the cruise on 80 and go.
