Sorry but we disagree, first, the minute any shop starts reparing anything,be it a car, house or motorcycle for the insurance company instead of for the real customer, the one that pays the premium ,that shop has lost his or her focus on very basic princples of any business which is make the customer happy and everything else will fall into place.Second is, the discount or kickback is the only requirement to get on any of these Approved List, nothing is ever taken in consideration like quality of work performed, proper equipment, customer satisfaction because most of the adjusters out there have never repaired or even have a clue how to properly repair the property that they are appraising ,they are only told to always go the cheapest route. So the phrases like we will warranty or they are insurance approved are deceptive to the customer because if you can't actually do the repair and are not licenced to do it how can you approve or even be involved in the repair process if your only interest is to lower the cost at any cost even quality. So what it boils down to is you either work for the insurer who steers business to you or you work for the customer and make him or her happy and they send you other customers.Your first question to any insurer who wants to send to a particular shop is "what agreement has this shop made with your company and can I see a copy of this agreement and legally what right do they have to negotiate on my behalf on the repair of my vehicle?I have been doing this for 25 years and you tell me that the new concerige programs where you are in an accident and they take your keys and have your car fixed by these hack shops who work for the insurance companies surprises you. They don't even allow you to contact the shop. You got to be kidding me.Lets get some other opinions from the people who pay those premiums.

So basically what he is saying is that insurance companies are a rip-off, and that field adjusters take kick-backs from repair shops!!! :orange:

Since it is time to renew my annual insurance I did some price comparisons.

$100K/$300K Bodily Injury Liability
$100K/$300K Guest Passenger Liability
$100K/$300K Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist
$50K Property Damage
$500 Comprehensive
$500 Collision
$500 Deductable
Accessories $5K
Discounts: No accidents and No tickets for a very long time

2006 FLHRSI and 2009 FLTRSE3
Dairyland Cycle - $565.92 (406.98 - 09' SERG / 158.94  - 06' RK)
Geico - $754.00
Markel - $885.00
Progressive - $994.00

Simple math makes my decision very easy this year.

I have found that Progressive has really jumped their rates this year. I used to use them, but switched to Auto Owners. I have my cars with them and saved $350 this year. Cost me around $450 for 100/300 and $3000 accesories.

A lot of extra is included in my insurance as well , i do not know which ones in detail , because i allmost never used , but i have to pay 1000 Euro per year , and that is a good and cheap deal here , they first called 1980 Euro per year but then a change made it possible for nearly the half price .
I am paying and will be lucky when i do not need it .

FLTRCVO your rates are about right for the coverage you have. Not bad, I pay a little more than you but have a little more coverage. You would be in pretty good shape if you had a loss which is what you want, mine is higher only in the UIM which I have stacked (double coverage) vs your policy limits.
You would, in my opinion, be hard pressed to find the same coverage for less. Hopefully you have a good Company.

Just switched from American Family to Allstate    50/100/50  250 deductible  for $368 a year. Allstate rewrote their motorcycle
policies last year and it made a huge difference in their premiums.

Damn you guys have cheap insurance

I have been driving 32 years, no at faults, no tickets in the past 10 years

I live in Canada, Ottawa to be accurate riding season starts in April ends in Nov... it costs me $1200 per year for a 2000 SERG, my 1984 Yamaha Venture Royal cost me $600, with my three cars and house on the policy.

Now remember.... we have universal health care, so our medical costs are a lot less to the insurance company... and yes most Canadian companies sell in the USA... I have no idea why we pay so much

Is that a Canadian policy Hawg?  or did you cross border shop??    :nixweiss:   No really is the cost of insurance that much cheeper in Alberta than Ontario?  Cause I have the same bike as Gank (only the good color :pepper:) and I pay just over $900.00 per year.
