Ok I am a dummy.  I played around with the seat with engine off and no bat. tender hooked up.  I went to go for a ride the next day and found the bike to be completely dead. Had to charge the bat. and then got it started.  I am worried that I may have damaged my bat. I left it on the tender over night and it fired up but it seemed to crank a little more than just firing up.  It is still on the tender hoping to get a full charge.  So I decided that this would be a great time and change over the seat to the heated corbin.  This seat has a light on it to show it is on.  I found this out by turning the acc. switch on.  Any ways just thought I would ask about the bat.  It is factory original from 2006.  May be I might be in for a new one.

I've left the ignition in the Accessory position for an hour once with the heated grips and seat on (OOPS!).  I had just enough to get it started... Barely.  My bike and battery were practically brand new at the time.  So it's not surprising if you add it on for too long that it would have drained it.  And if it's the original battery in your '06 it's getting near time to change it anyway.

Ride Safe,

I have noticed that it takes about 15 Min's for my seat to get hot. And I agree with some of the others on HI it gets way to hot and on low you may not even know it is on. Sad that they did not put a rheostat in the seat like they did in the hand grips to provide a little better choice..
Given the reliability of the heated grips rheostat, that would be the last thing I would want for the seat!  A simpler solution would be a low/med/hi switch.  I just got mine back from the dealership after the head recall.  While there I had them replace the rheostat for the grips and it works no better now than before.  Perhaps I'll give it one more try and then to heck with it, I'll just use my heated gloves.

I've just tried mine once and it seemed to heat up OK.   I agree with the comment that it has nothing to do with the acc. switch.  The buttons on the seat turn it off and on.  the acc. switch is there for an optional acc. if you need it.

At least that's the way it is on mine.

I took mine to the dealer because my seat wasn't heating up.  It turned out that I had it plugged in, but not quite the entire way.  Mine is a very tight fit and I found that I really have to force mine together for that final click.  It takes a good 15 minutes or more to feel the heat from the seat and if it's on high, it will fry your butt.  I can't even leave mine on low for too long, even in the dead of winter.  It stays warm for a while after you turn it off too, unless you get off the bike, you keep that heat trapped.

Thanks guys.  I am going to check and see which plug I have it plugged into because right now I need to have the acc switch on to make it work.

Why am I not seeing any extra auxillary plug under my seat?  Okay, which one of you stole my plug?  If I'm plugged in to auxillary, I wouldn't know.  I always leave it turned on, since it's an extra light on my dashboard.

I think you and I have the same year model motorcycle.  My Aux connector has a dummy plug in it and is secured to the frame with a mounting block.  My seat connector does not have a dummy plug and rides loose.......well........connected to the heated seat connector, of course.  Check pages 114-119 of the 2006 FLHTCUSE Parts Catalog.  You'll see both connectors in the drawings.  I do not have to have my Aux switch on to make my seat heater work.

Yes I too have an '06.  I will have to take a look see with the connectors.  It took me to put on the Corbin seat to find out it was/is hooked up to the acc. switch.  The corbin has a light (red) that comes on, on the seat switch when it is toggled to hi or low. It onle came on when I had the acc switch on.  I think I remember seeing the other connector but it seemed to be in there a little deeper.

I have a Corbin heated seat as well.  I've never had the dummy plug out of my ACC plug, nor have I had the ACC plug off the mounting block.  Right now, my ACC switch serves as the toggle for cellular phone comms via my ZUMO and Jim Bissonette's cable, so my ACC plug is useless.
Your seat plug is in there.  All you gotta do is dig it out, connect your Corbin to it, and you won't have to worry with the ACC switch anymore whenever you want the seat to get warm.
Best Blessings and safe riding to you.

Thanks Henry,

I plan to do this.  I just wonder if the previous owner did the switch -r-roo?  I am getting ready to put the hawg wired system in her and am wonder if anyone had used the acc switch to power the amp.  I had a '97 UC and thought the system had a large draw to the system.  So I thought if I wired it to the acc switch I could charge the system without powering up the amp.  Any ideas?

Huh?  I'm definitely no expert on the topic, but I'm not sure why you don't want to wire directly to the battery with the amp.  You can still charge the system without powering up the amp.  If the amp isn't stereo isn't turned on, it shouldn't be drawing any power, other than if there is a slight draw to keep the clock running.  I just don't think that worrying about wiring the amp direct to the battery is an issue to worry about.  Someone out there speak up if I'm incorrect.

I thought that as soon as you turned on the bike the amp fired up.  If it was wired to the acc switch I would be able to run and charge the bike with out powering up the amp.
