Tell me what you think
« on: April 21, 2009, 07:05:52 PM »

I just bought a 2009 Roadglide cvo and it sounds like a metric. From what I can tell from the dealer I should go with the BUB 05-7031-cgc for an exhaust upgrade, but they also said the bike would have to be re-mapped. What kind of recommendations do you more seasoned cvo folks recommend keeping in mind that I want to do the upgrades in my own garage. This is my first post, so excuse my shallow knowledge base.

Couple of things:

1 - welcome and you might go to the new members section and tell us a little about yourself.
2 - browse through the Roadglide section and you'll see numerous options regarding exhausts and different add on tuners. many have gone w/ fullsac baffles in the stock mufflers w/ very good success.
3 - yep, stock exhaust is downright embarrasing. my wife and son had a real big time telling me how much mine sounded like a wing until I went w/ the fullsacs. they're not laughing now.
4 - you've got a cat. converter in your header. 'tis best to get it cut out or get the header replaced.
5 - you're running too lean right now. do your new ride and your thighs a favor by getting an add on and having it properly tuned after you get the exhaust squared away.
