Considering the 09 'FLTRSE3, but after the bad track record on the
previous years
Leaking base seals, heat and pinging.
I ride a average 10k miles a year, I need a reliable ride.
I could bling out a 09' 103" RG with a FLTRSE3 tail section.
Thanks
Looks like (from your pic) you're riding an '05 RG -- same color/year as my previous. I went from that bike to a standard '09 RG & started spending $$ on a ton of items to make it mine. Mirrors, bars, heated grips, heated Corbin solo, luggage rack, Road Tech nav, Road Tech radar detector, Clearview shield, Hogtunes, garage door opener, HO headlamp bulbs, TTS Mastertune, Fullsac mufflers, Bitubo shocks, etc. The usual stuff, all of which I would buy if a CVO or not. I did spend more for chrome control housings, pegs, shifter arms, floorboards, and a CVO headlamp bezel (which I would not have purchased w/CVO).
I made this decision mainly after reading all the posts about the 110. I knew I would want more power, so the warranty wouldn't help me. I'm going with a 117 this winter & will still be way ahead of the game (financially) vs CVO.
When complete I won't have all the cool CVO body features (especially the rear), I can't say it's CVO, and I won't have CVO resale advantage. The resale doesn't matter to me, as I plan to ride this one for a loooooong time.
Good luck with your decision!
PS -- the riders here are cool dudes & will treat you with respect whether you ride a CVO or not.
