I was at the Bushtec factory in Jacksboro, TN this morning and somebody is getting a new trailer custom painted to match their silver and blue 2009 CVO Ultra... They had just rolled it out of the paint booth and it look absolutely awesome, perfect color match.

If you post on this forum we want pics after you pick it up.

Here's a trailer painted to match the silver/blue 09 SEUC.

And the 09 SEUC has a Bushtec hitch

Not a Bushtec trailer but sort of 1/2 there with one of the two wheels!

Your painter did an awesome job....on a side note Bushtec was sold earlier this year, makes you wonder what changes are in store.

Nope apparently he and Sally wanted to retire so they sold out to a company from Marietta Ohio.......at least that is the official story, his son is the GM and they have hired a new plant mgr. who said they want to effectively double production, hopefully the quality doesn't suffer.

Can't believe they can double production.   Why would you want to if they are doing well now?   The almight dollar.

Actually something was mentioned about the new owner being involved in Gold Wing sales... i can't believe they would be able to double production in their existing facility, and like mentioned above, customer service couldn't possibly remain the same. Time will tell i guess.

I have a rather unique trailer that i found in a barn 4 years ago, the name on the front is "Roadwagon". i have tried to find information about its origin without success. I'll post some pics before i get the  lol

I really hate to see that John has sold out!  I have never spoken to anyone that has had a bad purchase experience with Bushtec.  Great trailers and the best customer service.  Taking a plant tour, you can see that the facility is under-utilized with a ton of space for increasing production.  I fear much will be lost in the overall ownership experience.  Hopefully, it just doesn't become a Gold Wing trailer mfr. that also builds trailers that will work with a Harley!  The CVO program that Andrew has headed up at Bushtec, has really driven them to their present position in the marketplace.  Sure, anyone can have a trailer custom painted to match their bike and all with most of them coming out great, but many won't bother and will pass on the idea altogether if they have to worry about finding a painter, staying on top of the entire design process and finally making sure the plan was executed correctly.  The folks at Bushtec just seem to excel in that avenue and hopefully, things will continue along those lines for a long time to come.  Just a thought, maybe they should concentrate on building the custom trailers a little quicker instead of just trying to double production?

What I don't understand is why John's son Andrew didn't buy the business.

I guess financing would have been the big hurdle.

But FWIW both John and Andrew ran a first class operation and unless Andrew stays in charge I see changes coming for BushTec.
