Engine cooling fans

Anyone have experience with the LaNale cooling fan or the HD cooling fan? Do these things really move enough air to take some heat off the cylinders at idle?

I have one installed on my 07 since I first got the bike. Easy to install, easy to switch on, fairly quiet (can't hear it running when the motor is rumbling). seems to move a decent amount of air and has worked with no issues for 2 yrs. Plus it looks a lot better than that monster fan H-D has.

ragrep,
Had the HD fan on my Electra Glide. Worked good for getting the air moving past the cylinders, blew the hot air right on my leg.
Great for winter heater , but sucked in the summer.

Any idea if this lowers the engine temp, and if so, by how much?

Is the new motor a little warmer? Seems like the Yuill Bros pipes should help pull the heat off. I'm not going to worry about heat with my new motor as nothing could be hotter than the 110 on a hot day. ;D

Ive been running one since 07 1st on my Ultra and now on my SERG that little sucker moves a lot more air then the big ulgy thing harley sells, if my 09 kicks into 1 cylinder Limp mode, turning the fan on will shortly kick it off, they work great,  if you get into a jam they will keep you going.

Which kit worked on the SERG?  They list a few mounting options.

Dragon, Im not sure if they made any changes since I bought mine, my kit is prewired and plugs in under the seat and works off my accessory switch, I have a horn relocation kit that I used to move my OEM horn to the front downtube,

I just read a postive write up on UlraCool in AB magazine. It's basically an oil cooler with a fan assist to help cool things down. I kind of like the idea, anyone else  :nixweiss:

I've had a twin fan on my 2000 Excelsior Henderson for years.  So surprised that this is new?

ive been running a hd fan on my 01 and my current 07 - works really well at cooling the engine down

its only problem is that the engine has to get quite hot to trip the thing on - once its been on it will cycle on and off as needed for the rest of the day

the exact location of the little thermostat is important - it needs to be right at 1/16" from the fins so that it picks up when the outer edge of the cooling fins are too hot.

on both bikes it seemed to work well.

i also run a oil cooler

Anyone any ideas on how to stop the fan mountings for the HD cooling fan from breaking?
I have had to go - usually last about 400 miles.

Cheers

Thats why Im running the Lenale, my HD mounts broke twice and then the motor burned out, very poor quality IMHO
