After getting confirmation last week that '09 will be the last year of the Road Glide as we know it, talk at CHL this weekend was about a replacement. The '01 FLTRSEI2 added some much needed parts that the '00 lacked. After seeing and riding the the FLTRSE3, I noticed the much needed equipment was again lacking. In particular, lowers, Tour Pak, intercom, CB, XM, and a comfortable seat. I rode a stock FLTR and was less than impressed. I quickly noticed the wider stance of the '09 frame but that was about all that impressed me. The SE version was top notch!
The SEUC4 is arguably the most profitable bike in the MoCo's stable. This top of the line bike quickly sells at most dealers, usually for a premium. It would make sense for them to add a few bells and whistles to a bike that is already in the lineup and be able to charge a premium price. Couple all of this with a water cooled engine and you have the 2010 Screamin Eagle Tour Glide.
