Wow Spyder.  You must have like gums of steel.  That little short stock screen had to come off the red bike in its first couple of day.  Helmet bounced around all over the place.  Stuff hit me in the face.  Just wasn't any fun at all.  And I'm only 5'10".  Got a 12" screen here too.  The one on the bike is 9" (I think).  Actually wish I could find something about halfway in between.  The top of the 12" piece is right in my line of sight but just a bit more than the 9" screen would be better.

Me too.  I have a 9 1/2 that is a tad on the short side for me, but I prefer it to having to sit perfectly upright to see over the 12.  10 1/2 would be just right, I think.

Yeah, I know.  On the 'looks' vs. 'practicality' continuim, I'm way far on the 'looks' end.  At least I'm finally off the hardtail and have some form of sail.  Har!  8-)   spyder

Soooooo....at 6' 0" a twelve might work for me.  I checked the Memphis site, and wonder if the yellow would match.  Maybe not, better go with black if they have it.

Bob, I was lucky that the red was a really good match to the red on the fairing.  Have seen a yellow one on a banana though and it wasn't quite as close.  It really didn't look bad.  But at least to my eye didn't look great either.  Kind of the same reaction I'm having to the air cleaner cover.  ;D

If swapping the windscreen is a winter project and you want to wait to pull the trigger, however, I've got a 12" screen we might try getting in your hands sometime over the winter.  Then you'd be able to see if it was right for viewing comfort before buying.

Crawdaddy

I am 6' and have the 12" H-D 12" flame windshield for my banana. http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/gma_product.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524448766787&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302287493&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=2534374302287493&bmUID=1131683288892&bmLocale=en_US  It goes well with the silver on front fairing and is a good fit for me when I want a little more protection. I can sit upward to see over when it's raining or kick back and look thru when I'm cruzin. I found the 10" to be perfect for me. Enough to block wind and can easily look over the top.

I was thumbing thru the J&P catalog and found this windshield that caught my eye (page711). It was with the Memphis Shades windshields but found out it was not one. Called J&P this morning and they did not have manufacturer just vendor. It is Chrome in the center and black on the sides. I was concerned if chrome tint would give a glare as I have seen on some auto tint. Dude said it did not so I ordered on today. Not a bad price so I figured I would experiment with it. It comes in other sizes too. Here is the link to it http://www.jpcycles.com/ProductDetail.aspx?PID=7500133&cs=All

I live in Memphis and a friend of mien's neighbor works there and asked me if I wanted the yellow tint, I passed and will be getting a gradient black (black bottom /clear top) free. I just think yellow would be too much, I like a little contrast.

I might just take you up on that 2lane, I really like the look and contrast of the stock 4 inch, but on the long runs, I get a little tired of duckin and dodgin.  Thanks.  Next nice day I might ride up there, besides I want to check out the radio you're installing.
