I got my bike back from getting the tins installed last nite. Looks OK from what I could see with the overhead lights. I'll look at it this afternoon in the sunlight. Very small scratch on the forward right side of the tank. Looks like it will polish out. Unless there is something major I missed last nite, I'm done with this marathon hassle with Harley.

My replacement, replacement, repainted tank is in.  I should see it Friday.  Hopefully it is the last leg of the debacle.

All my upgrades are done and ready to go as far as the OCD adds.  Ready to have it back now.

My dealer called this afternoon to let me know that, lo & behold, all my parts are in (again). I'll go look at them tomorrow. Its supposed to be a sunny day. My fingers are crossed.

Well, I had a look at everything today in the sunlight. Everything but the gas tank looked good. Fortunately the Moco Area Rep happened to be there today. He's been helpful all along. He agreed with me on the tank and is reordering it yet again. The good parts are so much better it's almost worth the wait. I think the Area Rep might push to try and make sure the tank is right next time. This batch of parts were re-ordered back in November. The parts lady told me she'd had to reject several parts that had been delivered due to scratches or damage. She said "it's been a nightmare trying to get good parts in". I dunno - you'd think HD could (or maybe I should say would) do better.

I have no complaints about the way I've been treated by the people I've dealt with. They've all been as helpful as I would have liked. Nonetheless, this ordeal has lead to me feeling like a nagging, terminally unsatisfied customer. I don't know if anyone at the dealer sees me that way, but that's how I've come to feel. I first put in the warranty claim in May 2006 and have been trying to get it right since then. All the parts were actually changed out in October but only the front fender was good. I'm sure they're tired of seeing me.

The good news is there is hope for watermelon colored bikes!  :jalapeno: The new front fairing really looks awesome. Now if they can only do the same for the one most important piece, the gas tank. I believe it can and will be done.

Hopefully this will be resolved for everyone soooon.  I understand your frustrations, I went through it and finally gave up even after all the parts came in, had several other issues that HD could not or did not want to resolve.  Happy with the '07 scoot!

Do not give up.....every once in awhile I still see an '06 SEUC with bad paint....owners do not even realize it.  Wait until the trade comes into play.

I kept a running log of all my contacts with the dealer and HD on this issue. Started Oct 4th 2006 and resolved Feb 20th 2007. Good luck to all the rest of you that are still working this issue with your bikes. BTW, I saw the new paint on the bike in the sun for the 1st time this AM ... beautiful!!  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21: :divers009:

That to me is the crazy part about it seem. You either get a good set from the start or they just can't get it right at all. :confused5:

SEULTRA, It is good to hear your scoot is good to go.  You and I both know what a hellish battle it is to get the MOCO to do right what should have been done right from the git-go.  I think I'm done with new bikes from HD.  They're gonna change too much for my taste anyway.  If it isn't air cooled, it isn't a real Harley anyway.

Just a side note to all this.. I'm on the Harley "advisory panel" (read market research) and they asked this month if I was going to get the new P&A catalog... I said no... they asked why not.. I unloaded with both barrels... any bets on whether I get a response?? :vrolijk_26: :vrolijk_26:

Jay...Really, really glad to hear you are happy with all your parts...at least the part you can see.  Nobody but us will ever know about the small problems on the back side.  When the paint is right on the Black Candy, it's really nice, so enjoy the NEW bike!!!

Well, I went into the HD shop this morning to give them afork cap with the hidden nuts and my bike was gone.

No worries, seems while I was home on Friday with the wife who was having a bit of a medical procedure the HD shop was delivering my bike to my dealership.  Now that's service in my book.

So the SEUC is home again, home again, oh boy now I just need a weather break.

In addition to the tins they added a few parts (OCD type), chrome fairing trim, SS fuel line, SS crossover, chrome filler spout, the chrome oil vent line and least of all the chrome switch covers.

All the tins now appear great and the color shows through in the bright light.
