Jerry...couldn't agree with you more.  Where I work, the hot topic and thousands of dollars spent on it was "Total Quality Management" or TQM for short...great philosophy of teamwork, not placing blame, solving problems together...blah, blah, blah.  I operate with those reporting to me...it's just my natural way of doing things.  Turns out for upper management, teamwork meant doing what they wanted you to do, right or wrong, and don't question authority...be a yes man, in other words, and keep your mouth shut, or suffer the consequences.  I got the f#*k out of there as quickly as possible, because I was born to question blind authority, and was too politically incorrect for that enviornment 'cause I didn't mind saying what I thought...the air must get thin up high and they don't get enough oxygen in their brains to think the right way and do the right thing for their employees, and more importantly, their customers.  Then when things start going to hell, they wonder WTF caused it...DUH!!! [smiley=soapbox.gif]

It takes some kind of wake-up call, but sometimes it's too late.  Hopefully, the people at HD will get back to what got 'em where they are...paying attention to who really pays their bills....those who love their product, despite the imperfections, and just want things to get better for everyone.  My 2 cents....

...has anyone had any experince meeting with a Rep?  I am pleased with the performance of the bike but have had a lot of issues:

Heated Grips didn't work
Radio has a demon in it, changes channels, CD to AM to XM...what ever it feels like listening to.
Headset supplied with the bike has extreme static in the right side
Paint peeling off Sadsdle Bag Lid @ hinge
Driver Back Rest material torn @ base
Tour Pack was gapped .25"on right side

Hopefully I can get some of thewse issues resolved & be REAL PROUD of this SCOOT!

Napalm, My dealer had me meet with the area rep for my paint problems. He was very helpful. He ordered ALL the parts with stripes on them then asked if I had any other problems. I mentioned a couple of little things I would never have brought up had he not asked. He didn't hesitate to order replacements. For example, my odometer reset button worked, but acted funky - he ordered a new one.

If your Rep is lioke the one I saw, he'll take care of you.

boy, that's good news to hear.  if the quality control is lacking at the production level, at least make it 'right' when it is brought to their attention.  that's the way it oughta be, huh?  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  spyder

:)Met with the HD Rep today, very professional individual who really cared about my issues and getting them resolved.

HD is replacing all parts with the striping: front fender, Gas Tank, side panels and both lower saddle bags.

It was a great meeting. Thanks HD!!!

 [smiley=banana.gif]Great NEWS! ! !  [smiley=banana.gif]

I spoke with my dealer yesterday after waiting for almost a month (I had to call them by the way) and they said..."Well we are still waiting to hear from the rep" [smiley=nixweiss.gif] as you can imagine I was highly pissed!  >:(After a few minutes of explaining what I expected out of an organization after I purchased the most expensive bike in their line I was forwarded to the owner of the dealership. I gently explained my situation and my concern about why it has taken so long just to get an answer from HD about my paint and he said he would take care of it personally. About 15 minutes later I recieved a phone call from him that HD had approved my claim and would be replacing every part on the bike that had graphics!! [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

Now I can sit back and relax...as long as the parts are on order then I dont have to worry about rock chips and BUGS! ::)

That's good news, New.  But, that's just wrong to make a 'rat bike' out of the scooter, even tho you know you're gonna get new skins.  Gotta have pride in ownership.   8-)har!  spyder

Checked with my dealer today. They ordered all new parts on May 31st. So far they've received everything but the front fender and one side cover.  :)

I wasnt gonna go that far...but I like the way you think!

Last weekend I returned home from a 600 mile trip and the last 200 were at night...here in Texas the bugs are BAD at night, my bike looked the same...but I must admit, the next morning I woek up bright and early and gave her a good cleaning. Even though I know I am getting new paint I still have that urge to make her shine, although there is some form of satisfaction in leaving a $36K motorcylce in the garage for a week with bug guts all over it and not worrying a single second!!!

That was only 30 minutes in the rain and 620 miles from Cripple Creek to Park City, Utah with Big Al and his friend Mike.

I was smilin' the whole way though. I washed mine too, looked like chit and the sun is out.

Just couldn't stand ridin' a dirty old pig, now she's a shinny hog.
