Well after all was proceeding along well, the HD Rep looked at my bike yesterday with the new bags and REFUSED to provide the rest of the striped parts!   >:(  I am pizzed to say the least!!

Now the back half of the bike looks great and the front looks like...er, you know what I'm talking about.  Guess its back to square one with customer care.

After all the other guys have got their parts and more coming, I was really shocked at this.  HD and me have some serious discussions ahead... [smiley=argue.gif]
That is some serious BS! It pisses me off to hear that. They know the problem exist on all striped painted parts. HD customer service told me they were sending all striped replacement parts. I hope it works out for you let us know what the MOCO has to say.  >:(

I feel so lucky that Antelope Valley Harley is my dealer. Yesterday I went by and was told some more of my parts are in. So I asked if I could see them, well the saddle bags look unreal..............I am so blessed that I have a dealer on my side. Still waiting on the fairing, ft. fender, and tank. It feels so good not to be sick to my stomach looking and worrying about the paint on this "SHADES" bike. Just knowing it wil be like I expected when I bought it is all I need.  Wrongway

Well I wish you guys luck.  So far I have yet to get a personal meeting date to discuss his refusal to change out the rest of the parts.  I am still working on it, but may have to see if I can find the ladder to climb.

Its very frustrating to see some reps taking care of the issue, while others run for the weeds...

I don't give up easily.... >:(

Fight for what you feel is right,  most dealer could care less they already got your money.  I will settle for nothing less than all new parts,  my bad paint is noted on the predelivery check list and was promised (by the dealer)to be fixed.  They did say it may take awhile.

Got a call from my dealer yesterday that both bags (uppers and lowers), inner and outer fairing and gas tank were in.  Will be dropping it off Fri. 10.6.06 morning. I left a message for the service manager to make time for he and I to inspect the new tin before installation.  It will be interesting to see what the front fender and side panels look like with the new stuff.  I'll keep you all apprised of the outcome.

Talk about weeds and snakes in the grass ... the HD rep looked at the paint on mine today and said it wasn't a warranty issue! Claim denied. I was at work and asked my dealership to call me when he came so I could show him what I was talking about and the dealership said he doesn't talk to customers!  >:(
I called the HD customer care line and after being on hold for 25 minutes spoke to Debbie who told me that it is the reps choice as to whether or not they want to speak with the customer. I told her I had never heard of such a thing and I wanted to speak face to face with this guy. She said she'd put my request in the issue ticket and he would call me if he needed to. What kind of operation is this company running?? The extent of the dealers involvement was to ask the guy to look at it and relay his "findings" back to me. No support, no backing.  If this is the way they treat someone who buys their "flagship" model, I would hate to see how they treat someone who bought a Dyna. This is not the end of it.

Earlier in this thread there was a name within HD and a phone number posted that some were working with for information and support.  Seem to remember whomever that was making a difference when the arrogant or ignorant pinheads on the street didn't understand the difference between customer service and looking good on a month end expense tally.

Here's an update on my paint. So far I have a new front fender, tank (less the emblems), two bags and one lid. The lid was because some paint had popped off by the latch, not because it was milky. When the bags arrived there were two for the left, so one for the right was reordered and came in and is now installed. The tank came without emblems.

The outer fairing wasn't originally ordered but after the tank and fender were installed I insisted and the dealer did get it ordered. However, it came in Monday and the dealer went to install it Tuesday and refused to use it. One of the stripes was wavy so it has now also been reordered. I did get the emblems and I'm going to put those on myself.

Something that seems interesting to me from all the paint problem posts is the widely varying ways this has been handled for all of us. Some have had to call HD themselves for a reference number, some have had the dealer call and a rep came to look at it and some the dealer has handled it all the way. I guess I'm lucky, I reported it to the dealer and they were asked to email digital images to HD. The dealer has made all the contacts, no rep came to look. MoCo looked the images over and agreed to everything but the outer fairing, which they later agreed to also. I never have asked for the side covers to be replaced since they appear to be fine. Seems interesting that the MoCo doesn't handle it the same way across the board.

I'll post some pictures when the faring finally gets installed. Best of luck to you all who are still waiting!!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I'll try that number to see if I can make any headway with the MOCO.
