Bags in the sun, the lines where the reflection is cloudy sanding marks in the paint.

I will try and get some better shots later, maybe at HD-dudes house. These dont do the errors justice.  Also, the crimson flake on the Haze is like a long line of flake, mine are now round flake :(

That last shot of the bag, is that fingerprints or the bad paint job? I wouldn't be happy with that at all.

That is really sad Mike! I still haven't heard anything since the factory rep looked at my bike. I have left 2 messages for John at customer service but no reply. I am afraid I am going to end up with the same BS paint job. I sold my Victory to buy this bike if Harley dosen't get it right I am going to sell this one and it will probably be my last. Too many other American motorcycle company's out there putting out better products to put up with this!

Well Mike, this is NOT encouraging.  I'm one week into my wait for my second set of replacement paint.  I've already planned to do a complete inspection of the replacement parts against my bike before any work is done.  I do think the MOCO has sent parts as replacements which came off someone else's bike.  My left saddlebag lower is a case in point.  It had been buffed, but it has scratches on the bottom, the paint sticker inside is worn, it has the hook portion of the velcro still stuck inside to hold the liner in place, and it is the old paint process as indicated by the stripes.  The right lower is obviously new since it has the new process, is in perfect condition, and it doesn't have the velcro.  I just can feel the stripes on my front fender...........not as much as the right bag, and it does look better than the old one.
All I can do is pray that my stuff is right this time.  For what it is worth Mike, thank you for keeping us updated.

Watch 'em like a hawk ('er... Eagle) and don't forget to bring your Binford 2000 Ultra Mega Turbo high beam flashlight with you when you inspect the new paint PRIOR to installation! (Valuable lessons have been learned here)  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] ;)

A little better shot of the bags, this is what is all over the new parts, cloudy clear, and over buffing marks...keep in mind, this is with 3 new coats of good grade wax on it, hiding a lot of the swirl marks, wash it a few times, and it will be even worse as the wax disappears.

HD needs to get new people in the quality control dept. Only a moron would send out parts like that .... hey, maybe that's who is running the QC dept!! There is absolutely no excuse for that especially when it is being sent out as a replacement part on a F#@$ed up paint job in the 1st place. It's almost like HD doesn't care.... I hope your wrong about them not caring. I am back to square one now, Spoke to dealership and told them I would not accept these parts. Called MoCo, and Mr. Selensky was out today, but was helped by another person and we talked about it for a good while, he gave no indication that he has ever heard anything about any bad paint on '06's.

Whats encouraging about my conversation with him was, he asked if Oakland HD changed out the parts, so I got to tell him the Bob Dron horror story, so he asked, "Where do we have to send THE NEW paint parts too then?.  Im at the point where I dont want to go thru this again. I believe that this is surely known by anyone who would be thinking of buying a CVO and paying more cause they are a Limited edition custom bike, that the '06 paint is screwed up from day one, if anything, they would be looking to steal one for a low price. So therefore, they have killed my resale value on a bike I paid a premium for. You really think if I were to try and sale this bike, it wouldnt be looked at real good by someone interested? And so lets say some guy unknowingly buys my bike, rides to Events (Street Vibrations, Cripple creek etc.) runs into one of you monkeys from here, and then is told about the paint issue, or gets handed one of those web site cards, and winds up here on the site and reads this thread, and I didnt disclose it to him pre sale???. People die for $20 in real life, wonder what they would do if they got burned for 30k or more??, Kill me?, kill my whole family?, dig up my ancestors graves and grind their bones up into a powder??.....ok, so Im thinking a little too far ahead. But........you get the point.

I really want to believe that they will make this right. I doubt geting sent another set of re-painted parts will do that at this point.
