Dave,
Since you have the BCC/CS like me (and I'm awaiting my replacement parts) I'm VERY interested to see if the paint is good or AFU like Mikes. Let us know! Good luck... [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

The paint shop must have got some new MILK DUD paint!  My dealer called and my new tank is in!  Going to check it out Saturday afternoon.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]  Cross fingers.  Still awaiting fairing and front fender.... [smiley=embarassed.gif]

I know I said I was going to wait until the rest of my paint came in to make the trip down to Rider's HD.  An occasion arose, which required a trip to Birmingham, so I took my good saddlebag, and went to Rider's.  When I got there, I looked at the tank against my saddlebag, and at this point, I'm pleased with the new tank.  It is the new paint process; not a rebuff; I can feel the stripes, and it just looks great.  I'll make the final call when I see it against my current tank.  The left side cover was also in, and it looks great as well.  This is after five weeks.  Still waiting on the rest of the striped parts.
BTW, the melon that Rider's has had on the floor listed at $34,995 has been reduced to $32,995.  In case anyone wants to know.  Still has all the factory stickers on it.  June 2006 build.  I cannot feel the stripes, and since the lighting is dim in their showroom. it is difficult to tell that the paint is flawed...........but it is flawed.  Be aware if you are headed down there to look at it.  I'm not sure if they're gonna budge on that price.  From what I hear, they stand their ground on the showroom.

Just got back from the dealer.  Checked out my new tank in the bright sun and it was absolutely FLAWLESS!!! [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]  Perfect black color, no orange peel and great red sparkle.

As a bonus my bag spoiler lights came in and I had them put them on.  Now the wait continues for the fairing and front fender, but if they look like the tank all will be right with the world.

Good bye MILK DUD!  [smiley=mango.gif]

I'm happy to hear the good news for both of you!!  When these bikes are right, they really are beautiful!!

Bagger...glad to hear Rider's is doing the right thing for you.  They won't budge on the prices until it sits there a few months, and that one will sit there...

I took the bike in today to Macon Harley-Davidson for the new paint to be installed.  I saw the new fairing and it looked great.  Deep rich almost black in color.  It seems they have used several fewer coats of clear because you can now feel the graphics in the finish where before they were smooth.  I will let you know how it looks when I get it back later this week.

Thanks Terry.  It will be nice when I finally get the melon they way it should be.  I'm not too concerned about immediacy at this point....just so it gets done.
Those guys at Rider's were actually working me to buy that melon.  They said I could have twins.  ;D  I told them that I have no intention of going through the pure hell AGAIN, which I'm going through now to get the paint right on their melon.  And then to pay $1K over MSRP on what is effectively last year's model.  NOT!
As an aside, I dropped into Rocket HD yesterday to pick up some Christmas goodies for Mrs. Bagger (Renea).  They had a Teal 05 FLHTCSE2 in there.  Price reduced from $28K to $26K!  There were rock dings all over the front fender, lowers and outer fairing.  What a deal HUH?  Jeez.  The nerve of these guys.
