Spoke with customer service at the MOCO yestereday. The gentleman
that I spoke with was very professional and was aware of some other
complaints about paint. He didnt try to blame it on something else. I got the answer I was expecting...that the MOCO is aware of the issue and is looking in to it.

As I stated in a previous post the MOCO is waiting to see how widespread this issue is to assess their course of action. I was told that the MOCO is talking with the outsourced paint shop, that does their painting. I was told that picture sent to him and given  to the rep thats coming to look at the bike will help.

I think there are a lot of people who want to help us...but this one is going to go from the top down. So we need to have anyone with these issues to please post on this link. In the poll...over 25% of SEUC have paint issues.
Let us know how yours is being handled.

Was told that the Rep wont even come to look at it until dealer trys
buffing it out. Didnt work on the last bike they tried it on and the rep.
has already seen it didnt work...what a crock. If they just said it will take some time I would of been patient...but this is just stupid. If the company I work for said this, I would tell them it was stupid...and Siemens AG is a hell of a lot bigger than Harley. Oh well...small companies!

By the way...my dealer is smart enough to know it wont work!!!

These dealer reps seem to be a huge problem area. Doesn't appear to be much consistency between them at all. One seems more than willing to help, while another turns his nose the other direction. As fast as information travels these days, there is no excuse for even trying to do any more buffing. It hasn't worked yet, and it won't help in  the future.  One quick e-mail to all the reps is all it would take. I understand that HD doesn't want to admit any guilt in writing, but you would think they could communicate better than they do. Of course, I'm thinking logically here and that doesn't seem to be how it works.

I pick mine up next week, so I'm hoping for the best.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Well heres some more promising news.....Ive tried to call the MoFo Paint warranty dept. in order to ask John Selensky for an update....he asked me a couple weeks back to send him pics of my paint, I am placed on hold for so far, 34 minutes, 23 minutes, and again this morning for 20 minutes, they dont pick up. Nice.

I'm sure they're just so busy working on a fix they simply don't have time for phone calls right now. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Makes you feel like they're really concerned, doesn't it? [smiley=confused5.gif]

I sent my saddle bag to Rusty Dwyer last week for him to use in a meeting with all parties involved.  It has not been returned as of this morning.  I did get a call from Rusty thanking me for letting them use the bag but no update on what happens next.  He assured me that had a problem and were working to resolve it as soon as possible.  I will follow up with him and my dealer to see what happens next.

I hope you get some good news from Rusty.....I finnally got thru and just got a call back from John Selensky...He pretty much said nothing has changed as of yet, but its to the higher ups, the paint shop is blaming it on HD saying they are using their specs to paint the parts, and because there is more clear coat on the striped parts than the un-striped parts (crook of chit) , that its not their fault, if HD wants to change the specs, then they will, but thats not going to do any of us any good that already have bikes in our garages as far as fixes go. John sounds very sincere and is on our side, but its not his call.

Good to hear an update on this issue. It seems like it will be riding season before they start to fix the problem.  [smiley=confused5.gif]

It is interesting that your turnsignal spoiler matches.  That should show paint can match.

I called the MOCO again,, about my New Tins that were suppose to be to my Dealer in 3 weeks after they looked at them,, and took pictures. It has been over a month,, and I am heading to Daytona next Friday,,  so I was getting a little curious if they had sent them yet! The girl I have been dealing with,, said she would contact the area Rep,, and find out if anything had been done,, for my bike.  Well,, she called me today at work,, and said it may be another 3 weeks before my Dealer receives them.  I did ask her if she knew who Rusty Dwyer was,, who SEGeaserGlide06    was talking about giving 1 of his bags to,, and she said he was the Head of her Department  (( CUSTOMER SERVICE )) !! She asked where I had heard of him,, so I told her.  I guess this is a Positive thing for all of us with the bad paint.   I guess  we will have to see where things go from here.  I told the girl I didnt care if  it took them 3 months to get me New Tins,, as long as they look,, the way they were meant to look and Match the rest of GOOD paint!!  My Dealer is still behind me 110% on this paint problem,, and they have been in contact with the Rep too.  I told  my Dealer to put my name on a 07 SE in July,,  JUST  IN CASE !!!!
I am looking forward to getting south,, where I can actully ride my Bike!!  It still has 1 1/2 miles on it!!!   Good Luck to  the rest of you with dealing with your Dealers and MOCO Reps.
