I went to breakfast this morning with a small group of friends at our favorite cafe in Sacramento. While we are all enjoying our steak and eggs in walks two patrol officers asking for the owners of three motorcycles parked outside the cafe to step outside. Over at one booth, 3 guys dressed in motorcycle fatigues and obvious owners of the bikes ignored the officers request and continued doing their thing. The group finished up a few minutes before us and once they were outside we could tell something was up outside. So we hurried our butts up to get outside to find out whats going on. Turns out three motorcycles, two Vulcan's and one VTX were parked on the sidewalk in front of the cafe and someone in a wheel chair called the cops complining they couldn't navigate around the bikes. The cops already had a flat bed tow vehicle setting up to tow the bikes out. The bike owners were crying the blues claiming they were parked on private property and the the cops didn't have the right to take their bikes. Well, as always, the cops won that argument. We didn't stick around to watch each bike loaded and carted off but it was in process. I originally thought these guys were 'Harley' guys and had to chuckle a bit when i found out differently.
I see motorcycles parked on sidewalks all the time, I or any of my friends do not park on sidewalks, and I don't think we ever will. For curiosity, I wanted to set up a poll asking 'do you park your motorcycle on city sidewalks' but cant figure how to do that, so I'll just through the question out.
Do you park your motorcycle on City/County sidewalks
