Sounds like the MOCO has done a pretty good job so far on getting these wheels replaced quickly. I know this is dissapointing to many of you that agonized over possibly missing a trip to Sturgis on your new scoot. Call your lawyers back and tell them to stand down til the next problem arises. I say we start a class action lawsuit for stuff that hasn't happened yet. T.

I'm a recall victim.  They looked at it today and kept my bike.  Dealer says I should be back in action this weekend.  No big deal.  Sure beats a crack!  Thanks to the site for posting it first!

here is a bad SERG wheel

what designates a bad wheel is the "R" in the "MR15"

I looked this wheel over  and never could find/see a crack.

But I hear crack kills so this is a bad one based on the number on it.

I think the potential to crack is the killer!   ???

Can the dealer tell from the VIN or is it necessary to remove the wheel to know for sure?

It is necessary to remove the wheel and inspect the numbers stamped in the wheel.

I heard through the grape vine that those with cracked wheels will get their bikes replaced with the new 2010 SERG5. It appears that a cracked wheel causes vibrations that resonate all the way through the frame which causes microscopic stress cracks that are so small they can't be detected without the use of an electron microscope. There is only one of these machines in the U.S., located in Samoa and the cost would be too high for transportation and the testing. So the right thing to do would be to just give us new ones. I'm going to bring mine in first thing tomorrow so I can be first in line. I want that new color for 2010, hydraulic green. T,

That is funny...!  ROFLOL

Fantastic service at Alef's HD in Wichita, KS.  Got letter Saturday, checked bike in Sunday, looked at it Tues and found bad wheel.  Called MOCO with info, MOCO overnighted wheel and it's here on Thursday.
