I hear (and agree) with what you're saying re: CND$, but as you know that is not how it works...

Get ready, because there has actually been an increase in the CND prices for 2010!

I hope you're sitting down 'cause if I remember correctly when speaking with my dealer yesterday here are the Canadian prices:

Ultra  $26,899
Limited  $32,999
SEUC  $46,999

AND this week the CND$ was above 92 cents!  Makes no sense, but lots and lots of extra cents!!!

OK, you can pick yourself up off the floor now.

Remember, don't shoot the messenger!

Thanks for the update. Deeley Canada must be dreaming in Technicolor. Talk about really stupid business decisions especially in light of the North American economic downturn. Have they never heard of long term currency hedging? It now makes sense to get a US address which allows a US dealer to sell a new bike to a Canadian buyer.

equaltrac

I see your from Alberta, so you know a lot of us who have bought property in Phoenix and the southwest and of course we have seen the glut of 09 bikes on the floor at Canadian dealers and a lot of have purchased bikes and brought them to Alberta. The local dealers whine abut it.

Back in late 2003 early 2004, Canadian Dealers who were close to the Canadian/US Border had a meeting with Deeley Motors bemoaning the fact that Canadians were going south to buy bikes and parts, shortly Deeley dropped the prices they charges the Canadian  dealers that stopped some of the cross border leakage. However that is starting up all over again

For those who are wondering who Deeley Imports is, they are basically HD Canada, they are the exclusive distributor of HD in Canada, this relationship goes back decades with the Trev Deeley.

I know of a lot of locals who will go down to Great falls, Missoula and have bought back HDs at a hell of a saving, and I am also planning on doing the same when I find decide which way to go, and then of course we all know of Jenni and her great pricing on HD parts.

Someone mentioned their are no Prices on the Canadian HD Website, that is no surprise, when the HD P&A Catalogs hit the Canadian Dealers they also do not have any Prices, we always pick up the US HD P$A catalogs as they do have prices, however in US Dollars so we simply multiply the US/Canadian Dollar exchange and add  30% - 40% for Deeley and Canadian HD Dealers markup to come up with a price we have to pay for parts or simply get a hold of a US HD Dealer who will ship us the part at a significant savings or when we are in the US buy the parts there.

We may Piss and Moan about the pricing discrepancy, but what about our friends in Europe and in Australia and New Zealand, they would pay a hell of a lot more than we do because of different tariffs and markups.

Hopefully the pricing will come down to be more in line with US pricing, however I don't really care I will buy in the US or wherever I get a fair price for bikes and parts. I have in the past purchased 2 HDs and three vehicles form the US.

They're off their rocker on current Canadian pricing.  You can't have that much of a discrepancy on pricing from the US to Canada.  People will just sit back and not buy until the prices are more in line.  They were quick to put the prices up when the dollar fell but I don't see them dropping the prices now that the dollar is back up.  Dealers are however starting to deal on prices a bit which is a first for up here.

I'll wait until the prices come more in line with what the current economic times would justify.

Absolutly crazy. Deeley and the dealers better give there head a shake. I would really like to support my local dealer but prices are too far apart. I was accross the line last week and purchased parts at US msrp for $150.00 Can. Canadian msrp $187.00, quoted at my local dealership $204.00 and people ask me why I would buy parts in the States. Even something as small as brake pads US $42.00 Canada $72.00.

So now lets talk about new bike prices. 2009 models are not exactly in short supply.  :furious: $11,000.00 price difference on a SEUC, Canadians are friendly not stupid. Profit is not a dirty word, and I know the dollar is not the same, but lets be realistic. The economy is not greatist here either.

I have to stop before I snap.

We just finished a ride through BC and Alberta, stopping off in Calgary for the Stampede.  Visited the Calgary HD store while in town and they had an 09 SEUC on the floor.  Can't remember the exact price, but did comment that it was several thousand over the US price.  Amazing.

The Price on that bike is CDN $49.899.00, I have forgotten if that included Federal Sales Tax, if not you would have to add GST of 5%.

Also the other dealer in Calgary has an 08 SEUC and his price is CDN $39,999.00.

Come buy your HD's in the US.  We can use the business.  If you want to be really kind, buy in California.  Who knows, maybe the Canadiens can bail us out.:javascript:void(0);

Well, I was close with my previous quotes on Canadian prices for the 2010's...

Here are the confirmed CND $ for 2-Tone for proper comparison:

Ultra $27,689

Ultra Limited $31,719

Ultra CVO $46,239  (yes that is confirmed as correct!) :nervous:

SESG $39,819

RG Custom $25,019

So there you have it... It's not pretty, but it is what it is.

BTW, as many of you know production for the 10's is scheduled to be drastically reduced everywhere including Canada even though the % increase of Harley sales was higher last year in Canada than anywhere in the world!

They apparently didn't check prices for Harley Davidsons when researching this story.  I looks to me like the gap is widening on HD's.

Just last week I was at Kanes HD in Kelowna. They a O/B SERG on the floor. The salesman was pretty confident it would be sold by the end of the week. With taxes and misc fees they were asking $45,200.  That's about $8000.00 more then I paid last Sept.

The prices in Canada are outrageous! My 09 SERG is an import; I tried to buy from local dealers but couldn't justify the price difference. To top it off, they are typically arrogant about pricing !! One dealer actually told me that NOTHING leaves their shop at MSRP!

Now let's talk about parts and accessories. I bought a "non Ultra" overlay harness locally and paid $221 CDN. I have seen a post on this site where a member bought the same harness for about half that price???

Any suggestions on US dealers for parts and accessories?

The 2009 O/B SERG ($45,000+) at Kanes in Kelowna was still not sold as of Aug 6th when I was there.
