... and my wife said as long as I come back she said get what you want but don't spend more than we did on our car.  Frigin close on the numbers, but what is she going to do, kill me?

They get over it, man!  It's alot easier to ask for forgiveness than permission, right?

Thanks for serving our country and securing our freedoms!

Great choice, the SESG is a looker. Thanks for your service, and get home to enjoy it. You might drop HD a line or your dealer and request a 2010 catalog and the literature on the 2010 CVO's to help pass some time. Best of luck!

Hello all from Mosul, Iraq.  I'm getting ready to buy my 1st HD from Exchange New Car Sales which is a program where deployed soldiers can buy vehicles and get a pretty good deal.  My pop owns a 2007 CVO Road King.  He had many bikes before that and changed just about everything on them till he picked up that one.  I've been watching the Street
Glides for a couple years and after riding a rental SG for about 3000k through Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and Wyoming during a trip with my dad and 3 of my brothers (last hoorah before the trip across the pond) decided I would have to have one waiting when I got home.  I really like the CVO's, who wouldn't, but they never had a SESG before and I didn't think I could ever afford one.  Well guess what, now they do, and my wife said as long as I come back she said get what you want but don't spend more than we did on our car.  Frigin close on the numbers, but what is she going to do, kill me?  So I'm waiting to hear back from the Harley salesman, they have to wait a little longer to negotiate the prices for us vets, but he said they should be available in September.  In the meantime I've got a few months to commit fully and figure out where to ride it after I get back to the world and how to make it more custom than when I got it.

If the picture actually shows, that's Zion National Park.  Pop in the middle and I'm the one showing my @ss.

Hi Sapper6

I bought my 08 SERK through AAFES in the fall of 07 while I was in Baghdad through my salesmen back here in Germany.  AAFES only gets so many CVO bikes and it's kind of a lottery as to who gets them.  As far as pricing, I got mine for $2500 off MSRP but was required to buy the 5 year warranty and had to put $2000 down on it as opposed to $300 for a regular Harley.

Good luck and I hope you get it.  I'll be joining you in theater in a couple of weeks and you'll probably see our 64s flying up in your AO.

Sapper, Welcome from Louisville, KY. Thank you so much for your service to our country. I know the conditions are not the best where you are, but because of Service Men and Women around the world it allows us to sleep at night and for that I say THANK YOU. If you are able to give me you location or address I would be honored to send you a new HD catalog. Sapper my wife makes some great cookies. So be safe and get home soon, and thanks to you and all your buddies.

Sapper, it's on the way, enjoy. And I bet Mann HD will be happy to see you with catalog in hand when you get home. Remember it's your job to get home safe. I'll be thinking of your company with I hit my knees tonight.

Welcome to the site.  I too found this site while I was deployed and learned a lot.  I bought my first Harley through AAFES during my first deployment and it wasn't a bad deal.  After my second is when I got a great deal on a used SERK3.  I would definitely go with a CVO if you can swing it.  Good Luck with your purchase and stay safe.

Here is an update.  I've been pestering one AAFES dealer who I met in Kuwait before we moved up north as well as a local dealer at Diamondback.  The one in Kuwait said that he thinks that he should know something in Sept.  The local dealer told me the SESG's were not available yet and didn't believe me until I showed him this site that guys had already taken delivery.  So it will be a couple of weeks before I know whether or not AAFES has them and know what kind of deal they are offering.  They both tell me that they are going for well over MSRP stateside so I again refer them to this site.  Time will tell and I've got plenty of time.

Thanks you all for the warm welcomes and I look forward to some great advice on how best to trick her out when I get home.
