Does anyone have a link for the exact MSRP on HD's Extended Warranties (Service Plans) with details on coverage? I'm looking for the exact MSRP pricing information but have not been able to find the information for a 2010 touring bike. Anyone have a link to that information? Is my only option to get the MSRP from the dealer?

I don't have the prices for you off the top of my head, but in response to do you have to pay MSRP?  In a word, No.  If your dealer is not willing to budge off of MSRP, call Jenni Sapyta at Tri-County HD, or call Chicago HD, and they will give you the ESP for 20% off.  I told my dealer this when I bought my SESG and they gave me the ESP with the wheel/tire warranty for the same price...so they can, if they want to, negotiate a price for you.  I would highly recommend you get the wheel/tire warranty when you get the ESP.  It will pay for itself in two tire changes or one rim change if they get damaged.  I've replace 3 tires under the warranty and all three times, the tires still had useable tread left (a requirement) and didn't cost me a dime to have them replaced.  I've had two rear tires and one front replaced due to them picking up "road hazards"  (screws, nails, etc.).

Hey Charlie, which type of screw or nail do you choose to puncture the tire with when you're down to about a 1/4 tread to get the free ones ::) ?

Wait, that wasn't supposed to be my outside voice  .    :huepfenlol2:

:huepfenlol2:  I suppose a "less than scrupulous" individual could work the process that way.  But unfortunately, I'm not that smart and those were actual road hazard pick ups.  :(  Just like every golf ball I buy has a divining rod in it and ends up in the water, every motorcyle I've ever owned has a magnet inside the tire that finds nails and screws.  Now, these three tires weren't on just one bike, that's been spread over two...hehe, but the results were the same, didn't cost me a dime...unfortunately one tire only had about 1500 miles on it when I took a nice dry wall screw in the tire...

I'm not intending to pay MSRP but if they offer 20% off MSRP and you don't know what the actual MSRP is, how will you know if you paid 20% off. That was my obejctive in finding any source of info with the MSRP of the Extended Warranties.

Well, I just bought a 7 year last Monday on my new Limited.  It was $1499, and they threw in the tire and wheel add on.

Are those prices for after you've purchased or at purchase?  They seem $150 each high to me, which would suggest after 30 days of purchase of new bike.

I may be all wet on this, but I would imagine that a person could sit down with the "Business Manager", or whatever they are calling the finance person these days, and have them show you the suggested retail prices on their official Harley price list.  There definitely is a suggested retail price, so there has to be a price list.  Any dealership that didn't want to show it to me would be told to stick it where the sun don't shine.

Here's an idea, get a 100% discount by forgoing the entire thing.  Take the $1500-$1700 you save and invest it.  If (when) something breaks after the factory warranty, take the necessary amount from your piggy bank and fix it.  If Harley has actually corrected all those little "issues" we've been seeing for the past few years, you might get lucky and not have to break the piggy bank at all  .  .  .  .  ??? .  .  .  .

I appreciate the help, but I really don't get it. Why is it so easy to find MSRP on-line for the bikes and every harley accessory under the sun but no one can point me to a single link that has the published MSRPs for HD's Extended Warranties? How is it possible that the MSRP for extended warranties would be treated like a trade secret? It must be published somewhere otherwise its not an MSRP.

there is a brochure that the dealers have that list the MSRPs for the various new/after 90 days or 2000 miles/and used bike ESPs.  I know, because I got one when I bought my 08.  The prices that were quoted below from Jenni Sapyta are correct to the best of my knowledge.  I bought the 5 year ESP with wheel/tire and paid $1039 for it.  The reason you won't find a link on the Harley price is because it's that magical MSuggestedRP.  The dealers can, like their motorcycles, charge as little or as much as they feel they can get away with.  It's only a suggested price.  I've known some dealers to charge over $2000 for a 7-year and wheel/tire...and others to give much better prices when you get it with the purchase.  My dealer, rather than lose the sale of the ESP to Tri-Counties, gave me the same price they would have.  20% off.

To me, it's peace of mind.  I've more than paid for my wheel/tire warranty already and that is now paying off the ESP portion.  Unfortunatley, you can't just buy the Wheel/Tire warranty separately though.  What Jerry brings up is a good point, but remember, if your radio goes out after the two year warranty...that one item will just about pay for the ESP.  You have to replace a major component, the ESP is paid for.  Some believe in them, some don't.

Feel free to Google the heck out of it, but all you will find is links to discussions just like this one.  I've spent more than just a little time searching myself when someone asked this same question a year or two back, and never did come up with a published price list.

Here's a question for you.  Why not just go to a dealership and ask to see the price list?  Just make sure you don't take your checkbook or credit card with you so they can't tie you to the chair until you sign up.

One thing I've noticed ever since I joined the dark side and bought my first Harley is that H-D treats everything like some kind of life or death secret.  Information that other manufacturer's freely make available for things like automobiles is only accessible to those with the secret Harley decoder ring and secret handshake.  Case in point, there used to be an excellent source of Harley tech bulletins and other information on the web, called Harley Hog's Lair.  Harley threatened the guy running the site, who posted this stuff all for free and didn't make a dime from it, with all sorts of legal hassles if he didn't cease and desist.  Why should a manufacturer care if someone posts information to help their customers?  I'll tell you why, they don't want us to know about all the problems, and they want to keep the ability to lie to us and jerk us around whenever they feel like it.  In the case of the ESP pricing, which they could easily list on the web site if they wanted, I have to assume they keep it this way to appease all those dealers who want to keep the ability to eliminate competition and charge whatever they think they can get away with.

BTW, if you decide you want to buy an ESP for your Ford product you can do it on-line without having to kiss some dealer's azz to see the secret price list.
