I appreciate the help, but I really don't get it. Why is it so easy to find MSRP on-line for the bikes and every harley accessory under the sun but no one can point me to a single link that has the published MSRPs for HD's Extended Warranties? How is it possible that the MSRP for extended warranties would be treated like a trade secret? It must be published somewhere otherwise its not an MSRP.
Feel free to Google the heck out of it, but all you will find is links to discussions just like this one. I've spent more than just a little time searching myself when someone asked this same question a year or two back, and never did come up with a published price list.
Here's a question for you. Why not just go to a dealership and ask to see the price list? Just make sure you don't take your checkbook or credit card with you so they can't tie you to the chair until you sign up.
One thing I've noticed ever since I joined the dark side and bought my first Harley is that H-D treats everything like some kind of life or death secret. Information that other manufacturer's freely make available for things like automobiles is only accessible to those with the secret Harley decoder ring and secret handshake. Case in point, there used to be an excellent source of Harley tech bulletins and other information on the web, called Harley Hog's Lair. Harley threatened the guy running the site, who posted this stuff all for free and didn't make a dime from it, with all sorts of legal hassles if he didn't cease and desist. Why should a manufacturer care if someone posts information to help their customers? I'll tell you why, they don't want us to know about all the problems, and they want to keep the ability to lie to us and jerk us around whenever they feel like it. In the case of the ESP pricing, which they could easily list on the web site if they wanted, I have to assume they keep it this way to appease all those dealers who want to keep the ability to eliminate competition and charge whatever they think they can get away with.
BTW, if you decide you want to buy an ESP for your Ford product you can do it on-line without having to kiss some dealer's azz to see the secret price list.
