SCREAMIN’ EAGLE® PRO HIGH FLOW 58MM EFI TB
« on: August 28, 2009, 01:49:33 AM »

Fellow SERGees,

Reference;  SCREAMIN’ EAGLE® PRO HIGH FLOW 58MM EFI THROTTLE BODY – ELECTRONIC THROTTLE PART # 27713-08

‘09 catalog says; “Just add your stock injectors (parts book say’s 27609-01B) or the Screamin’ Eagle Pro High Flow Injector Kit P/N 27796-08 or 27797-07 (sold separately).

Stock injectors are recommended for engines making up to 100 rear wheel horsepower, Screamin’ Eagle High Flow injectors are recommended for engines creating greater than 100 rear wheel horsepower.”

‘10 catalog says; ~stock or the -08 number.

I can’t find anything on line identifying what the difference is in these two High Flow injectors.

Anybody know?

Thank you.

Different flow rates.  If I remember correctly the stock injectors will flow 3.9 g/sec, the 27797-07 will flow 4.9 g/sec, and the 27796-08 will flow 5.3 g/sec.

So, if I install the -08 part number, I can drain the tank in just over a second? Woah! Now you don't even have a bar hopper. You've got a gas guzzler than can't pass the pump! LOL

Well now, that explains why they needed a 6g tank.  But, aren't fuel injectors rated in psi?

Isn't that grams/second?

OK guys, that's not gallons per second, it's grams per second.  BIG difference.

 :cherry:
My current Screamin Eagle Pro Racing Parts catalog did not show the "stock" number you referenced,  but it would likely be around 50 mm as the 58 mm is listed as (8mm or 16 % larger than stock) :P

That stock (injsetoc) number wasn't in the SE catalog, it is in the stock parts catalog for the FLTRSE3.  The stock "induction module assembly" (TBI) for the FLTRSE3 is 27685-08A.  Which should be a 50mm.

Its more than just flow rate differences in the injectors. Once injector part # is designed to be used with the normal throttlebody and the other (the higher rated grams/sec) is designed for use with the electronic throttle-by-wire throttlebody.

According to the SE catalog, any of the injectors can be used with the ETC throttle body.

"SCREAMIN’ EAGLE® PRO HIGH FLOW 58MM EFI THROTTLE BODY – ELECTRONIC THROTTLE PART # 27713-08
Just add your stock injectors or the Screamin’ Eagle Pro High Flow Injector Kit P/N 27796-08 or 27797-07 (sold separately)."

The 58mm cable operated TB, however, only mentions using the stock injectors or the 27797-07.   :confused5:

So Jerry, if both fit why would anone use the 4.9 when the 5.3 is available?

I'm reading from the 2010 SE parts catalog and it clearly states that the injectors P/N 27797-07, that deliver 4.9 grams/sec are to be used with throttlebody P/N 27639-07. This throttlebody P/N is for the cable operated pro high flow 58mm EFI throttlebody.

The injectors with P/N 27796-08 that deliver 5.3 grams/sec specifically state they are to be used with throttlebody P/N 27796-08. The throttlebody with this P/N is the Electronic Throttle SE Pro High Flow 58mm EFI Throttlebody.

Seems clear to me that the smaller injector is for use only with the cable-operated 58mm TB and the larger injector is designed to only be used with the throttle-by-wire (electronic) 58mmTB.

Just follow the part numbers (all on the same page) and it'll be clear to you.  Hope that helps.

Shouldn't surprise me that H-D's own product descriptions are either wrong or don't match with each other.  Looks like the safe bet is to use the -08 injector with the -08 TB.
