I have been lurking around with only I pipe in here and there.  Time to give up the info.  I live in New York now, lived all over.  Wish I had my ride during the 10 years I lived in California.  It is what it is!!  Have my ride now and loving it.   My first bike at age 10 was a Honda 50 Mini Trail,   [smiley=ROFLOL.gif] 3 speed, no clutch. Dirt bike, dirt bike, road bike, whatever.  Finally got mine, ’99 Heritage Softail Classic, a hand-me-down when my bro got his ’04 CVO.  It is one sweet piece of eye candy and, I love it.  With all the trails and commuting times are over.  Finally it is my time to ride just for the enjoyment of it.  The wind, the roads the FREEDOM!!  Hitting the twisties, scraping my floorboards, knowing I am pushing it to the limits.  But with safety, common sense and, [highlight]courtesy in mind at all times.[/highlight]

When did that happen?? ;D

ghaz,
Let me guess your brother always picks on you? [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Been lurking for a week. Only had the pumpkin seeg for 2 weeks. This seems like a warm and friendly place, so here I is.
Name is Jerry, Naples FL. Traded my beloved 96 FLHR in on the 04, and so far I love it. Wife has an 04 FLHRI with more miles than my seeg, so finally I have a newer bike than she does. Na nana na naaa!  [smiley=banana.gif] We ride about 10k a year, from FL to NC to IN to OH to Canadaa, or wherever else we can. Havin' lots of fun with the HOG chapter; I'm treasurer and newsletter editor, wife is director.
Florida State HOG rally will be in Ft.Myers Oct 26 - 28! (Wife is Events Coordinator; can't keep from raising her hand) y'all come!
Garznhogs  comes from love of cigars and hogs (wasn't obvious, was it?)
Thanks for letting me in!

Welcome, I came from a 95 FLHR, actually shouldn't say that as I think she's jealous as she sits in the back of the garage now behind the 04 Pumkin and the 00 Fatboy (girlfriends)! But We can't bring ourselves to sell her! Took her out for a spin this afternoon - first time this year but after all its michigan and the past months riding has been perfect for the full dressed SEEG! My king is a stripped solo seat beauty and will remain so. Gotta admit though the stock SEEG seat may need 2 go - Forgot how nice that Mustang is. The girlfriend said today I had been ignoring the RK buying all these goodies for the SEEG, but I told her I had everything possible already on the RK (and on her fatboy too, thank god she doesn't care about power ;D), Thats why this time I bought a SEEG CVO - it comes with everything already......right, including its own website of OCD freaks that have actually justified my recent order for a chrome beltguard, will it ever end? - Hope not! Welcome!

ceej, thanks for the welcome! I had a Mustang seat on the RK for about 56,000 miles, and it was still good when I traded it in. Wife had a Mustang on her Dyna, and now one on her 04 RK, so I may have to get one for the seeg.
I couldn't fit 2 bikes and 2 cars and all the other junk into what they call a '2 car' garage, so the RK had to go. Lotta memories with that one. Had it 6 years. But the 04 sure is tighter!  You know what I mean.
Now, where's that 'what to buy' thread?  :D

Hello Everyone,

I have been lurking for a couple of weeks now and decided to join.  I started riding at 5 years old when my older brothers wanted to see what would happen if they put me on the mini-bike.  I did many laps around the house until one of them knocked me off. They wanted to ride too.  I have ridden ever since. 40 years of two wheels and I’m still diggin’ it. Artic cat mini-bikes, then Suzukes, Yammies, and finally, Harleys. My brother John, probably the bastard that knocked me off, intro’d me to HD with his Heritage Softail. After I put 1000 miles on his bike one weekend, he thought I ought to get my own. So I did.  I currently own an 03 Electraglide Ultra Classic bought new in July of ‘03.  After 3500 miles I took the engine out and had it worked over by Howard Richards @ RED. With the Screamin’ Eagles pipe and intake, 95” kit and Power Commander, the dyno says it makes 95 HP with 102Lb/Ft Torque.  Passing is much easier now. Even with our shortened riding season here in Maine I have managed to put 26,000 miles on the ‘03.   I will own a Screamin’ Eagle Electraglide someday!  I stumbled upon this site and am glad I did. So hello again!  Harold

Welcome!! This is a great site with members that are VERY passionate about their scoots. Most are chromeaholics and all will give you suggestions on how to "improve" your current ride. We're also lucky to have some real Harley expertise here so get ready to run WFO with a bad case of permagrin.

cerberus,
Welcome to CVOHarley. You will find an abundance of information here. Make yourself at home, and participate as much as you want/can. As for the chrome thing that SEULTRA talked about I don't have a clue what he's talking about. :D

Thanks for the great welcome!  I have really enjoyed reading the posts, the sense of humor and excellent info you folks share.  So far I have added an MP3 player as the cd skips quite a bit over 80 MPH.  I also changed out the grips to a set of chrome and rubber ones that look good and feel great. I burned up the starter at 20,000 miles with the 40 thousandths head gasket and higher compression. Starter was replaced with a chrome heavy-duty one and a set of compression releases, which I now use regularly. The gas cover is now a push button deal which I like better than the key affair. Last winter's program was new rings, honed cylinders, all fluids changed, new neck bearings, brake pads, and new rear brake rotor as the noise I was hearing last fall was the sound of metal against metal. Hey 25,000 miles was good for the rear brakes, right?  I think I got 1000 miles out of the metal part of the pad alone. It did seem to be lacking somewhat in the brake department..but I digress. I also added the quick release kit for the tour pak and it looks great without it! It also feels quite a bit different with it off. I also added a chrome license bracket and the hidden antenna kit for the radio. Ridden over 600 miles so far this spring and will be riding today in about 3 more hours! Thanks again for the welcome.  Safe riding everyone. Harold

not sure what you consider "southern" maine but if your interested in putting some miles on tomorrow (sat) a small group of us is going to the easy riders shown in CT. i can hit ME in about 90 minutes from my house so depending where you are this may or may not be feasable for you
