517's not for me..they are 31'' wide and a turn in wrist angle, stock bars are 33'' wide which gives you much better control of the bike. Sounds like everybody is looking for the 2'' rise and 2'' pull back with the same width as stock....just saying..

I've got the 517s and they DO pull back too much...for me...I think.  I'm trying to get used to them, they're very much like my 04 Road King Custom "Beach Bars" only not as wide.  They are DRASTICALLY different than the SERG stock bars.

I bought a set of Cycle Visions' Road Glide bars that are supposed to be 2" higher than "stock" and they may be, but they are nearly identical to the SERG bars in that the rise is about 1" higher but the bar end/pullback are slightly different and your hands end up in about the same position...too bad since they were only $99.

I called Cycle Visions and Brad (their tech/designer/fabricator) told me he basically cut a set of stock bars and welded in 2" pipe on each side then had another company make them.  My only thought here is that the stock (nonCVO) bikes have shorter bars than ours to begin with.

Thats a bummer...I really like the hand angle of the SERG bars only need them to have about 2" more rise so I can roll them back and have them a little closer to me.

Do you think Brad can start production on the specs your requested..I think they would be a good fit for several of us..

I put Wild1 515's on my '08 Road Glide, and I am very happy with them.  I'm 6'4" with a tall torso, and they fit me well.  They are taller, more pull back, and a more comfortable wrist angle.  Jim (hd-dude) recommended them, and he was right-on. He gave me a good price on them too.

Here's some number comparisons on the Wild1 bars:

Description     Year    Bar Diameter   Rise      Width   Pullback   Center
Stock    2003 - 2008   1"             8"        32"       11"       7"
Wild One   513 (Ape)         1.25"            8.5"        35"      11.5"      10"
           515 (Ape)         1.25"            10"        36"      11.5"      10"
           517 (Glide)         1.25"            8.5"        31"      14.5"      10"
           575                 1.25"            10"        34.5"       13"      14"

Got any pics from different angles you can post?

Thanks,

Howie

Knothead,

I just got off the phone with Brad from Cycle Visions...Bad news, he'd have to make a bulk-buy so it would be cost-prohobitive with our relatively small customer base.  Again, bummer.

If someone out there finds a similar bar to our stock SERG setup with an additional 2-3 inch rise, LET US KNOW!

Thanks for the pictures Bill. If possible, could you post one with your hands on the bars so we can see your wrist angle.  :nixweiss:

You bet - I'll try to get some shots in the morning. Now if I can just get my border collie to frame the shot just right.... :orange:
