My only complaint is these don't heat my grips nearly as warm as two other brands I've previously used,

Heat Demons' advertising reports them starting out in the snowmobile and off road industry.  Whatever their history their thin elements are never going to bake your hands.

One thing I've noticed with them is there's a significant difference in their effectiveness depending on the grips installed over them.  One bike has Kuryakyn's ISO grips.  Solid rubber all the way through.  The other bike has SAC grips.  Even thicker than the ISO grips and a foam core.

The Heat Demons' elements are inside the handlebar.  So they have to heat themselves, than the handlebar, than the grip.  Once all that has been radiated through we feel it in our hands.  Right side grip of course doesn't even have as firm and direct a contact surface against the bar as the left side does.

I've been on a couple bikes with skinnier grips that worked better than either of mine.  On mine the bike with ISO grips performs both more quickly and with a little more warmth than does the bike with the SAC grips.  Both bikes get warm.  Then hands appreciated it.  But the grips make a difference in overall system effectiveness.

I believe the other brands worked better (or heated my grip much warmer) because they were a solid heating element that took up the whole inside diameter of the handlebars where the handgrip are located. The Heat Demons are just a super thin heat shield. The heating elements that I previously used were actually made for snow-mobils and needed there own toggle switch for Low/off/High. I remember they worked so good, that you couldn't put them on high...even in extremely cool weather. Low and off were the only two setting I ever used. What's funny is....I remember the heating element was only about $30.00+some shrink wrap for the wiring. I don't remember the brand, but I purchased it at some snow mobil store/supply shop. This set up isn't an option for our bikes because of the TBW set up. :(

no option .... thxs for the explanation .  :2vrolijk_21:

But the grips make a difference in overall system effectiveness.

I wonder if the PM grips would work better for feeling more heat than my stock CVO grips?

Has anyone posted any pics of a 09 SERG W/ Mini apes? I don't like the looks of the tall ape hangers. And I just would like a bit more pull back than what I have with the stock bars. Hopefully at some of our GTG's I will see a few of the different choices that have been installed....................................Fuzz

I did have a friend help me.  Bleeding the brakes and clutch is almost impossible by yourself with bars this tall.

The upper part of the vertical section of the bars touches the windshield edge at full lock, but the grips are above the windshield.

Thanks!  Yours does too!

I think these bars look the best of any I have seen on the SERGs.

I am debating whether I want to get the engine guard to match from Paul Yaffe.

Today i received the wild 1 10" Mini-Ape , but it is not really like i guessed .
I made a few pics holding the new to the stock bar and it seems that the wild1 has too much pullback for me and the hand would have a bad angle , this is not the way i wanted to hold the bar .
The handgrip area should be more horizontal and more straight to the outwards direction instead of showing so much backwards and directed to the ground (with the wild 1) .
 I definitely won`t mount this wild1 10" mini-ape .
I guess that the Paul Yaffee OEM monkey for Roadglide would better fit my ideas , but it does not have a official document for using here in germany called (allgemeines Teilegutachten) , that what i would need ( the wild 1 has it ) .

Highjagger,

Did you ever mount your mini-apes?  I was thinking about getting a pair and wanted to see what they looked like.
