The antenna is for XM satellite radio. I found a guy that had a few of them. They were made for a custom car builder, that wound up NOT ever using them (I think he said George Barris). They are supposed tio be way out in future's ville. I chose this because: 1) I get awesome reception, and little (if at all) signal loss. Problem with those little magnetic antenna's they give you with XM (or Sirius) is that they loose signal very, very easy. The "gain" is so selective, that leaves from a tree will cause loss. This antenna picks up under full foilage, and even through a tunnel. It has both terrestrial and satellite provisions. They don't use the terrestrial anymore, but this antenna seems to be about 10 times stronger. We ride the mountains out here a lot, and most of those great twistie roads are covered over in trees. Nothing pisses me off more, than to loose a tune in the middle of me diggin' it, only to BLEEP, BLEEP and it's gone. I KNOW THAT IT LOOKS LIKE $hit, but what could I do? I need ed the reception, and besides, I don't have to look at it.
The seat is a Road Zeppelin. Parts catalog tells you that it will NOT fit on a RK, but I figured out how to do it. All I had to do was drill another hole in the seat hold down bracket (flat bar at the back) a little bit further to allow the seat to fit. Easy as pie! Worth it too, 'cause my butt likes the air pockets that are adjustable. I like the fact that I can adjust it while on the road to change pressure points, etc. Expensive, but better than any Corbin I've ever owned. Makes so much sense too. I aslo have a "Vibe Rider" in this seat. By the way, I have a few for sale. They are $129.95 + 7.00 S&H on their website. I will sell to CVO memners for $110.00 including S&H, so I can save you $27.00 and your Girlfriend and/or wife will love you for it to boot! Vibe -Rider will make your lady tell you to "go faster" I PROMISE!!!

PHASE TWO:
There is a complete foreward/backward Radar Detection unit, that has sensitivity of +/- 5 miles! The control module mounts on the handelbars (it was an after thought) otherwise I'd have built it into the Fairing believe me! Then I have Laser blocking units front and rear. These are totally illegal, so there is a kill switch on the dash. Once I get a signal, I immediately turn it off, as I am shutting down. It has saved my A$$ many times in the few weeks since I resumed riding (after my knee replacement surgery). What the blockers do is to send back a "confusing" signal to the cop. He'll get a reading in the neighborhood of 400+ M.P.H. ,and will then re-shoot the Radar. This is why you want to turn this off immediately. If they can catch you with a unit (in Ca as all I know) they can impound your bike, AND/OR a fine (1st offense) of $2,500.00
The Radar unit in the back is that tiny black thingy under the Fairing; the blocker is on top inside the protective zone of that luggage rack. In front I stacked them outboard of the headlight. I had to fabricate a bracket, but it wasn't hard. I could do a drawing if someone needs it. One KEY point is that those blockers MUST be installed perfectly level, and parallel to the road surface. It'll take someone holding your bike straight, or do like I did, and make-shift a way to stand the bike straight up while you make your adjustments. The Radar unit is the "CRUISADER" as manufactured by Whistler. Pretty expensive ($325.00 ++) but I found mine on eBay (of course) for I believe $225.00 (old timers' lost memory). The Laser Blockers are the BLINDER M-20 X-treme Jammers. also found on eBay. Additionally, I did the same kind of set-up on my everyday cage ('97 STS) I actually "hid" the jammer (front one) in the Cadillac crest in the grill. I removed this emblem; cut it in the center removing the height that was required; mounted everything, and people can actually go right up to it and they don't see it. Pictures available upon request. I wasn't prepared for pictures, and there were two of you that noticed these items. I guess there are some keen eyes out there...

HUBBARD, no, that Fairing is manufactured by DRAGONFLY Cycle Concepts...
http://www.DragonflyCycleConcepts.com
It really does look like an early H-D style Fairing doesn't it?
I wonder where they got their design from?
H-m-m-m-m, oh well, works for me...

Make and Model of Fairing?
Where purchased?
Who Painted it to match?
How does it attach to 03 SERK?
What would you NOT do over again?

Thanks
DR

I have been asked to post some pictures of the fairing I installed on my 2003 SE Road King. I installed the upper and lower vented units, as well as having the interior oif the upper pin-striped. I am happy to answer any questions you'all have regarding what I did, how I did it, and most importantly, the mistakes I made, and how I corrected them; additionally what I would/wouldnot do over...

My question is, what kind of antennae, or aparatus is that on the back of the tour-pak?

Appears to have come from a Delorean out of back to the future?  :nixweiss:

Where did you have it painted to match and what sort of $$$s are we talking for the paint job?

Thanks

That is one sweet ride, now we know where the MoCo got the idea from to build a SE Ultra.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

I was just looking through a little bit and came across something you wrote back, but my reason here now is I love your bike too! And it dawned on me that I love ALL the CVO's. All are like "butterflys" as my baby daughter called H-D's...
