That's not very flattering!

By comparison, the '09 is pretty over-the-top (in a good way!)!

I just call mine...Baldy.  And as far as 'over-the-top'.... think back to the year 1999, when the original was introduced. :2vrolijk_21:

Have shared that thought more than once.  The CVO FXR bikes pre-2000 were nicely adorned but no special graphics.  And the rest of the model lines?  Two colors on the same bike was considered fancy.  I think some of the Shriner bikes had used a pearl white by then.  But there was nothing to jump out at anyone.  Compared to the standards of the day the 2000 SERGs were a huge departure.  Bling with a capital B.

They didn't something else then that they've settled away from more recently too.  The SERGs were a look all their own.  Following them the FLHRSEI and FLHRSEI2 bikes were also stunners for their day (and still are) but were looks all their own too.  No repetitive indulgence to or reliance on the SERG that had come before.  They didn't get sylistically lazy.

The SERGs and SERKs begat the SEEGs in 04 and 05.  Another pair of stunners.  Another pair with a look all their own that didn't harken back to what had come before.  And after the SEEGs......

After the SEEGs have been some excellent looking SEUCs.  But they've all been homage to the look that was the SEEG.  Variations on the theme.  It's as if three great looking ideas were all they could muster.  Once that was done it's been recooking the same cake with different colors and accents.

Another disapointment I feel in the CVO line is that in the eatly years 2000-2005 the moco seemed to be saying to the consumer " here is what your bike could look like if you were to buy all the availabe opptions and add ons of that time".  Now it seems they are continuing the paint scheems but you have to buy the lowers andand you have to buy the tour pack and you have to buy more chrome that is available now etc. What do you think?? :nixweiss:

That might have held more true if one looked only at the SERG3 bikes last year.  Without lowers or tour pak that many thought they should have had since their closest legacy had already had those pieces.  The notion holds up less well if you consider the SEUCs though.  They started out with more accessories than the SEEGs had and continued getting more.  The SERG3 was a very good looking bastard child in many ways.
