We lost one of our HOG Members today while on our annual ride to Honor our true American Hero's. It was a beautiful sunny day in Louisville for a ride with 60 plus bikes in the country not but 30 miles from our Dealership where the ride began. I was riding in the middle of the pack and the deadly accident happened about 8 bikes in front of me. It was a two lane highway with no passing lines painted and not much of a shoulder on each side, a typical country road. There was a car waiting in the opposite direction for all the bikes to pass so he could pull into his driveway when a pickup truck came over the hill at a high rate of speed and no chance to stop. The truck slammed into the rear of the car knocking it into our lane and taking out one of our riders. He was killed instantly and we still cannot figure out how all of us other riders missed the car or truck. There was only the one bike involved but as I could see what was about to happen time slowed down and it seamed to all most stop. We have a couple of EMT's that ride with us and they did what they could. Right now we need your prayers for our Hog Chapter and his family.

As I read this it causes me to again realize how crazy danerous it is for Moto Riders. This sport we enjoy so much, one that gives us such a great thrill. No matter how bad a day it is, a ride on my motorcycle gives me a PICK-ME-UP more than any other thing this world offers. It's just so sad to se such a waste because of someone else was in a hurry. Yet, a real blessing that more weren't taken as well.

I lived in Kentucky for 10 years and I know how beautiful those back roads are and how dangerous they can be.  This is such a sad and unfortunate event.

Damn... no words can capture how bad that sucks... very sorry for the rider, his family, and the chapter... but thankful everyone else was able to avoid the same fate.
