Go to a shop that sells Gerbing rather than HD. If they are a good Gerbing dealer they will help you try on the clothes. Here is the trick, Gerbing will make things fit you, it just talkes a little while. I am 6'4 but only 195 lbs. I needed non standard sizes, laege has too short of sleeves & XL is just plain too big. So I tried on several jacket liners until I found one that fit my body & another that had the correct size sleeves. Then ordered the body size with the sleeve size from Gerbing. Gerbings made them perfect. Buying Gerbings without trying on is a risk, the sizes don't run true.
Yes they need to be snug, otherwise you don't get the heat transfer. The new liners with the micro wire should fit even better as they won't be as bulky with the wires.
If the Gerbing gloves do not fit you correctly all you have to do is find a set of lined gloves (must be lined) that fit you & that you like, then send them to Gerbing & they will pull the liners, wire them & put the liners back in. Then you have gloves that fit propery.
I don't know about the pants. I wear Levis or LL Bean lined jeans & the HD FXRG Leather Overpants which is perfect for me.
I do use Gerbing heated socks, I wear a thin pair of silk socks under them & they work well. They were not comfortable for me without the silk socks. I use the ones with heat all around the foot, not just on top.
Hope this helps
