I saw the pic of the trim powder coated fairing,
for me it looks better than teh crome one.
Good taste, Klaus

Yes , i think that with the clearview blacked bottom shield it looks pretty good , not so dominant as the chromed one . When i am able to get the powdercoated , i would try it .

Received the HD trim and have to mount it once more .
I first tried without removing the fairing but got the ugly gaps at the corners.
I should have heard to Larry : "Remove the fairing" .
So i have to do the job a second time . ( Again the hard way of learning instead of listening to the experienced specialists )

Not a difficult job , done , it is a damn awful impossible job to let the ugly gaps make disapear .
I had to fix the screws inside the fairing , no other possibility because every time i tightened the wellnut it popped out of the fairing again- definitely no chance , so i wanted to make sure it is a secure mounting , i fixed it with a plastic and a stainless steel washer inside and then put on the wellnut .
Now it is impossible to change a windshield from the outside but it is really fixed and won`t fly away anytime .

:orange:  I installed mine and got those ugly gaps on the ends and also in the middle.  did you remove the rubber on the bottom of the windshield before mounting the trim?  I see no other way to get the trim to lay flush along the surface of the windshield and not have the gaps on the end!  you are right about those wellnuts they need an additional washer behind then for better support, but you will not get that windshield off again without the removal of the fairing! :orange:

Thank you

I did not remove the windshield rubber , i do not think that this is the clue for the gaps but i will think about this idea .

that`s the mysterious thing about the Clearviews : their shield seem to be a little overlarged at the section between hole 2 and 4 especially at the fairing-corners  .
