I have a 2009 ultra classic that I have put 7,000 miles on last year. Was really happy with it until I saw a ultra classic cvo at the dealer. It took my breath away. I was wondering if it would be worth trading? The dealer would give me 18 K for my bike and take 19 K difference. I also have a 2006 Softail Classic that I could also trade for 12.5 K but I really like the bike and am having a hard time parting with it. I ride the Ultra most of the time. Was also wondering if I should trade that bike as well and get the cvo for $7,600? Help!

jg,
First off welcome to the site when you get a chance you should go to this board - New Member Introduction and start a thread to introduce yourself.

Sounds like you've already sold yourself on the '10 SEUC just sounds like you need to decide if you want to keep the softail. If you area already not riding it that much w/your '09 Ultra you are probably going to ride it less when you get the CVO. :nixweiss: Good luck on whatever you decide. :2vrolijk_21:

IMO, trade in both and only pay $7k............. a great deal.

You will only want to ride the CVO once you get one - FANTASTIC bike!

Trade.... I had a 2006 Ultra, rode a 2009 last year decided to keep mine. This year saw this years CVO, had to have it. The power difference, with a few mods, is huge. You can drop the CVO into 6th at 55 mph and still accelerate. I felt the 96" lacked in this department. Besides that it is a CVO. As a none CVO owner for many years who doesn't want one.

Yep, the CVO is an exceptional ride!  Regarding the Softail, if it were me (which it's not)  I would keep it.  But whatever you do I'm sure you'll have thought it out very carefully and then be absolutely comfortable with your decision. Once she's gone, she's gone for good (Softail).

Welcome to the site, ride safe.

I'd trade them both. You'll only ride the CVO if you were not riding the Softail much with a regular Ultra.  The CVO is without a doubt the best Harley I have ever had. :pepper:

trade both.  As Mrs. We said, you won't want to ride the softtail after being on the CVO.  The other thing to consider is the trade value of the 06 will drop when more used '96's with 6 speeds hit the street.  The CVO's are still true factory customs that hold their value better than taking a stock bike and tricking it out.

i agree with trade both, you will be disapointed with your old softail once you have experienced the CVO, but bear in mind the CVO will require a few mods to release the beast, it comes pretty restricted out the box.

18K for an 09 UC with 7K miles seems reasonable.  Having had my 08 CUSE for 1.5 years and 24,000+ miles, I can tell you that you will love it.  I like mine even though I have the "old" frame (but I do get 24,000 miles on a front tire!!).
The much maligned 110" motor with a Stage I air cleaner, SERT, and a good dyno is a fine running motor.

Darn, I don't know what state you live in, but $18k trade in? Jump at the deal,
here in Wisconsin your looking at a much lower number. We still have NEW 09's
sitting on the dealers floor.
