Custom Dynamics Plasma Rods review with pics
« on: November 19, 2009, 10:27:22 AM »

I recently installled the CustomDynamics.com Plasma Rods on my Ultra.
I mounted them on the saddlebag filler strips instead of on the saddlebag itself. This way, I didn't have to make a disconnect plug for removing the bags. I made mine as run/brake lights, but you can make them run only, or brake only or run/turns.

Pros;
Easy install
Looks good even when off, can't be seen
Added lots of light in low light conditions(cloudy/dusk/dawn/night )

Cons;
Not so bright in full midday sunlight

All in all, these PLasma Rods look good and add more light to the rear of my bike. I'm all for making myself more visable to other vehicles.

As running lights at 8 feet;

As brake lights at 8 feet;

Brakes at 20 feet;

http://www.customdynamics.com/plasma_rod_led_lights.htm
$150 a pair

Tip, add "vtxoa" into the coupon box if you order from them and you will get another5% off. Before anyone asks or gets uptight, I do NOT work for them or know anyone that does. It's just a good website that I have had many dealings with and they are good products with excellent customer service if you need it.
I'll try to snap some pics tomorrow, right now my garage is filled with Christmas lights boxes as I'm trying to get them up before I have surgery next week

Thanks. I tried hard this summer to do just that. Got the bike home June 2nd with 3 miles on her. I'm turning her over to my dealer for the winter while my rotator cuff surgery heals up, with just over 13,000 miles on her  ;D

Dick they look good I tried them before changing the rear by adding the fascia. They fix perfect in the space.

I looked at the link provided, couldn't really see them.

Of course that is what we want right?

Custom Dynamics is a great company. The Plasma Rods are actually just a opaque red housing that holds the LED's so they look like a "rod" of light vs the normal led's that show each individual bulbs. The base holds the wiring and electronics to make them work without a load equalizer.
