My pictures above of the 08 crimson red RG were 1.25 chubby apes. The Wild1 part number was W0513, I am 6'2" with a 35" inseam and normally dress shirts have to short of a sleeve. The W0513 were comfortable and I may do it again but want to ride this bike my FLTRSE3 for a while like this before I make a decision to change them. The Wild1 web site has the dimensions listed for all there bars. Look at the W0513 bar and my 08 pictured above and go from there. I would say the W5013 is a baby ape at best. But they were wider. I held them up to my 04 FLTHCSE and they were almost identical except an inch wider at each grip.

With apes the glove boxes are accessable while riding down the road.

Scuba Steve,

IMHO - I think they look great!
What seat is that you're running? It looks better then anything else I've seen.

Thanks

I am running 14" from Wild One. I absolutely love them. I am 6"3" with a 34" inseam. The higher bars make all the difference in the world from a comfort standpoint and IMO it handles even better. The looks are a matter of personal opinion. I like it but get mixed reviews from others.

Here is a pic of my 08 with Wild One W0513 bars. Check out there web site they have it laid out to where you can compair bars demensions.

Gotta love these Kury Flamin' Switchblade pegs! Cool as hell. They have matching brake pedal and shifter pegs as well. You gotta finish the job! I put a pair of the Flamin' Switchblades on for the passenger as well. Great for keeping shoes off the pipes.

Generally , Do you allways have to lean your body more forward when riding with an ape ?

Have the 10" "mini apes" from Wild 1 on the 2000 SERG.  For comfort of the shoulder position actually wish I had the 12".  For appearance sake I choose the 10".  12" just too tall for my tastes.

10" feel good though.  Handling is no issue.  Can ride with them all day long.  Even a very short armed rider can reach them.

Wow , i was thinking that the higher you would go the less comfortable it would be for the shoulders , you say the opposite is the fact . Also a great advantage of the 10" is that the stock cables could be used . I have to wait for answers for the law-permission here in germany and when there will be a "OK" then this will be the way I`ll go .

Too high will be uncomfortable.  It's just that for 12" is not too high.  I don't have abnormally long arms.  I'm about 5'10" (177) and don't have long ape-like arms.  But 12" bars feel best to me.  I just don't care for the look that tall.  The 10" bars are good too.  And they're a look I don't mind.  So that's what I went with.

On my old 2000 the brake line did have to be changed though.  The newer bikes with ABS have an entirely different line of course.  So the old bike isn't an absolute comparison.  But the throttle and idle cables worked (barely, but they worked) and the clutch cable worked with a little rerouting.
