I left at 5 a.m. because I was being kept awake by bikers riding into the campground at Mount Rodney all night. I decided to make use of my time rather than laying awake listening to guys rev their motors next to my tent all night. I didn't stop until I arrived at Tacoma, Washington, at 1:50 a.m. PDT time. 1,210 odometer miles from when I started at Sturgis until arrival at Tacoma.

My best, longest stretch, was from billings to Seattle (home)  hotel to garage door was 824 miles.  It was one of the best solo rides I've done.  about 14.5 hours if I recall correctly.  But I have a habit of hitting the rest stops and BSing with folks, meet a lot of nice people that way....

Ride On......

Where's the best place to buy a Zumo 660?  And then that brings along what's the best headset bike to bike intercom for the wife and I to use that's compatible with the Zumo?

Hand down, call Jenni at Tri County (513) 874-4343 tell her you are on the CVO web site. She gives you a 20% on everything. I got my 660 from her a few weeks ago for 599.00 and thats a great price. Good Luck

That's who I was thinking of calling.  What's the difference between the 660 and the one that Harley sells as she will give 20% on the Harley one too?

If you call Jenni, you'll get the Road Tech Zumo 660 (the HD version), not the standard 660.  They don't sell the standard 660.  Both are made by Garmin, the HD 660 gives you a two year warranty and also the HD dealer database is already loaded in the device.  Otherwise it's the same device.

The Harley version comes with the car mount, but no motorcycle mount. HD wants you to buy their fairing mount or the handle bar mount separately, but several companies sell motorcycle mounts, so you're not tied into HD's choices.

Thanks UFO HOG, the "I like it very much and works well for what I got it for"  is the kinda chit I was looking for.  REALLY.  Here's techie for ya,   I recently bought a VCR/DVD machine, but quickly learned I could not hook it up to my TV since it didn't have a plug to screw in the cable, and the TV only has the cable plug..............  go figure, a vcr without a cable plug!

You can go to Radio Shack or Walmart or wherever and get the adaptor to make your VCR/DVD work perfectly with your TV.  Try this part  http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103063

I got the Road Tech Zumo from Jenni but as near as I can tell it's the 550 Zumo and not the 660.  I could be wrong as I've never had either before but while registering it everything points to it being a 550  plus it was $640 rather than $600.  I don't really care about the price but I thought I was getting the 660 and not the 550.  Maybe I made a mistake as I just send her part numbers and have it shipped to me but the part I ordered #92357-08A is the Road Tech Zumo in the catalog at $799 and it appears to be the 550.  Anyone know for sure??

The 660 is part #92115-09, so you got the 550.

I'd probably sell this one for a discount if anyone wanted a 550 that was new at a cheaper price-but if no one would want it I guess I'll keep it. Sure would be nice to have the bigger screen though.

I had the choice of both and I purchased the 550.  There are many places where you can research both units, including this site, to make that decision.  I still prefer the 550, while some others will tell you the 660.  Here's the Garmin website comparison https://buy.garmin.com/shop/compare.do?cID=135&compareProduct=15000&compareProduct=414 .  Don't feel bad about having the 550. It's a fine unit.
