If you're taking off the fairing, you don't have to remove the windshield. It should be left on.
Remove the 6 #25 Torx screws and the Blinker bolts at the bottom. Stand at the front on the fairing, but one hand on top of the windshield and one at the bottom of the fairing and pull up and then pull towards you, do this gently. Once removed, rest the fairing on the front fender and unplug the headlight wiring harness.
To install, just reverse this process. There are 2 things you have to watch out for: 1. When putting the fairing back on, slide the fairing back into place. When doing this, you need to gently lift up and push in. There are two hooks that need to be inserted into the outer fairing. Its tricky, but you can do it. Just be patient. The second thing that you need to watch is, there are wings on the inner and outer fairing. The inner fairing wings need to be on the inside. Be sure this done before you screw in the Torx screws. And be sure the wires aren't dangling at the bottom.....Good luck!
