Hey everyone, I am looking to remove the Tour-pak on my ultra, and relocate the amp between the rear fender and saddlebag. Anyone done this? Am I going to have any issues with no rear speakers?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

I went the same route on my 2010 SEUC. Trust me...there's no simple solution. If you make the TP detachable the amp no longer fits under the TP. There's no where that I could see to install the amp between the saddlebag and fender. Its just too big.

I installed a Biketronics amp and upgraded Titan speakers up front. For a while, I rode with amp inside the saddlebag (it fits nicely against the inside wall of the right saddlebag) with the wire harness simply running under the lid. The harness is long enough and there's enough give in the lid to have the wiring simply fit under the lid without modification.

This way when you remove the TP you can disconnect the amp and place the wiring under the seat for your SG look. The downsides of this approach was a additional heat from the amp running inside the saddlebag and the lost storage space.

I elected to remove the rear amp altogether. With the assistance of Iron Cross Audio http://www.ironcrossaudio.com/ (the live close enough to my home and actually came to my house...now that's service you don't see everyday), they ran rear speaker wiring from the plug in the back of the radio back to the rear amp harness wires that power the rear speakers.

By taking these steps I now have rear audio from the stock speakers powered off the radio's amp whenever the TP is attached. When the TP is removed there's no need to disconnect anything else other than the rear speaker connections and place those connectors under the seat.

If you decide to go the route of eliminating the rear amp altogether (as I did), I strongly recommend you contact Iron Cross. They can definitely help you out. Its a straight forward project but you need to know the wiring colors to correctly connect the rear speakers to the radio's harness plug.

I just realized you have a 2006 SE Ultra. My recommendations above for handling the rear audio on an SE Ultra with a detachable TP only apply to the 2010 model.

I have a 07. I had amp in saddlebag for 2yrs . This year I removed it and hardly noticed a differance. Then I got the New Harley Boom speekers,WOW, big difference! In my oppinion the Harley amp is wasted space. There are threads here that will tell you how to remove it. It's EZ. Good luck Skeezics2
