Riding Boots
« on: December 21, 2009, 03:38:12 AM »

Can anyone recommend boots that have thick soles and heels like engineer style boots, but also are well ventilated for summer use? Thanks CAHDBIKER

Most comfortable boots i have ever found are Justin's slip on work boots, i wear them year round, I have a pair for everday use and a second pair for riding.

Gonna get a lot of opinions on this:  For me, Georgia Boots, slip on, wear forever.  I also wear them everyday.  For SERK3 it's Justins, for someone else it'll be something else..............  I also have a pair of Red Wings, love the fit, not a fan of all the laces.......

I own two pairs of The Origianal SWAT air boots.  A summer pair that I wear in South Texas and the same pair but in waterproof and thinsulate version.

By far the best pair of boots I have ever owned.

Good and timely topic.  I have a pair of Red Wing lace up boots that I love but they no longer make them.

Work has started offering us Danner Pursuit™ GTX® 8" Uniform Boots. They are really lightweight and comfortable to wear..... and it helps that they are free. ;D ;D

I've got the summer and winter version of the Original Swat Boots also.....as do many of the Nor Cal group.  And now the women have started getting them.  They are, by far, the most comfortable boot I've ever put on my feet. :2vrolijk_21:

I have a pair of the Danner's, almost worn out. Used to like the regular Danner's but they are heavy. I have to agree with JC, the Swat boots are more comfortable and they are lighter. Wish I didn't have stout short legs so I could wear the taller waterproof ones. Have to look again but when I got mine the waterproof short ones were discontinued.

I'm in the market too; have been reading many praises of the Cruiserworks. The 2868 called the Short Zip boot is the one I am after. They are a little pricey but I have worn out 2 pairs of Harley El Pasos in the last 2 years and want to try a step up in quality. Made in USA too. Ed
