Finding those 3 guys will be tough...many of us have parts ready or ordered for the bike before we take delivery.

If the parts are ordered (or sitting on a shelf) then your bike's still stock.  Mine was stock.......for a couple weeks. :huepfenlol2:

I have the stock system for the 2001 SERG.
I have the stock system for the 2005 SEEG.
I have the stock system for the 2009 SEUC.
I have the stock system for the 2003 Classic.
Hanging from the ceiling.

And for how long?
Till the ceiling can't hold anymore!

Next question?

Thanks, now I gotta wipe off the monitor!  ;D

I thought I was specific...I guess not. How many of you have kept the stock exhaust and mufflers on your bike? I have to say I'm surprised by the number of riders who modify their CVO's.

Would a Fullsac alteration be considered a mod?? From the outside they are still the same, but the baffles are different.... add to that if someone drills some holes in the stock baffle is that a mod? Not trying to be picky, but as you can see from the posts there will be few and far between (if any) that have done absolutely nothing. :nixweiss:

In regards to the engine... is a cam change a mod... if someone changes lifters (to an aftermarket brand)because the stock ones from the MoCo are making noise but it is still within the specs of the MoCo.. is that a mod?

My 2008 Ultra is stock as far as the engine and exhaust, I have been thinking about true duels (trying to get some of the heat away from me and the passenger and looks better)  and using the stock mufflers so I can still hear the radio.  And I have 25,200 miles on the bike.

Point taken Fired00d. When I think STOCK I mean ZERO changes.

Like I said...just a bit surprised at the desire to change a rather expensive and heavily customozed bike. I guess many want to put a personal mark on their machine. Nothing wrong with that.

That personal touch and the fact that a lot of us have what we feel/think is that traditional sound a Harley is supposed to make. I would venture to say that most of us have stored in our heads the first time we heard/saw a Harley and how it looked/sounded and we all want our bikes to look/sound that way.

My '05 FLHTCSE2 motor & exhaust is factory stock.  Haven't heard a sound that's better yet...and with no engine mods she still gets 42-44 mpg and besides, I'd rather not throw any more money at the crooked oil companies than I absoultely have to...

But I said sitting on the shelf BEFORE delivery....once the bike arrives then those parts go on the bike which then makes it no longer stock. Mine stayed stock for a few days..and as I recall wasn't your first trip to Corbin right away??

I once thought that a "CVO" had the best chance of staying stock, but that was when I was young and stupid.

It is the same group of buyers that have the most resources to change them, and they will.

I have never seen a stock bike that was over 6 months old.

My '07 was rebuilt by factory/dealer four (4) yes that is FOUR times before I reached 12K miles. Is that still stock???? If so, then yes I am still "stock", but only because I want to be able to argue withe the MOCO. Obviously, they couldn't do it right.

My 1997 Fatboy was modified when i bought it new by the dealer and I got used to a louder Harley with relatively good performance for the time.
When I got my 2006 FLHTCUSE I kept it stock for the first year but got tired of the heat and felt the bike was being chocked down by the stock setup. I realized it was handicapped by the stock setup when i installed S&S SPO mufflers and an Arlen Ness Big Sucker as well as a race tune download. It gained power and runs cooler, it also has a nice deep rumble that has more of a traditional motorcycle sound. I don't regret letting the motor perform at a better level.
On my 2009 I decided to not wait a year and had the head pipes replaced with Vance & Hines power duals and a set of Cobra mufflers and the SSERT for a richer tune to help prevent overheating issues that the 110 motor has a history of having.
I see people changing from the stock setup for various reasons, as mentioned above, they want to make the look or sound their own, or they want maximum performance and not the strangled factory settings due to the EPA. Then you have the philosophy that Harley itself has been promoting for years Willie G. says "a Harley is a blank slate and each owner makes it his own work of art." So I think with the large parts catalogue and that policy they expect and hope that owners spend money to change things from stock. The MOCO and dealers make lots of money selling us the parts and labor for the install. I bet this is one reason we can't order the bike the way we want it from the factory.

I do understand the idea of the first poster though, I know several people who have stopped riding Harleys for other brands because they got tired of spending thousands of dollars after the initial purchase just to get the bike right. They buy other brands and just turn the key and ride.
