You have to account not only the 40% off in sales, but also the tremendous reduction in production numbers. What the Moco has been trying to do, is to adjust to much lower shipped numbers (from a high level of well over 300,000 to just making 200,000 annually). At the same time dealer inventory went down almost accordingly. In a nutshell, Harley has downsized significantly. This obviously will help to stabilize prices much better, than anything done in the past. If the economy is somewhat improving, the demand might possibly be higher than inventory.
If you're looking for a deal, sooner could be better than later.
Ride safely,
Louis
PS: To be able to buy a black 2010 CVO in Europe is going to be much harder, and we do not expect any disocunts or rebates on the very few bikes available in our market. There are not even enough for every dealer to have one on the floor.
Time will tell but with sales of all Harley's off by 40%, there going to be alot of dealers on their last legs this year that will eventually do whatever they need to do to close a sale to make it through another month. Trust me...there's lot's of discounts coming on all models. The financials never lie.
