Don't forget the silver (silver on mine) bracket that attaches to the one speaker bolt and the vertical braces, those break fairly easy and allow one side of the fairing to really shake.  Check those also, they usually break in the thin area very close to the speaker.  I don't have a pic, but they are under the amps in the first pics posted here.

Brad

Here are a couple of photos showing why I was unable to mount the HD horizontal fairing braces. The brace would have to be arc shaped and mount behind the screw (2) that holds the Hawg Wired bracket/plate for their satellite amps/crossever.

Chains,

I noticed that same shaking in my fairing (right side also), especially at idle, before I opened it up to send the radio for repair. Here are two fixes that I found if you decide against the L-bracket and using the xm antenna platform as a fix as I did.

Thanks Tom, I'll check them out.  Hate that shake especially at idle at a light, people look at you and think the bike is about to shake apart.

Jim

Chains,

I agree, it doesn't look or feel good when that fairing is shaking like hell. All I can say is, don't wait to long to repair that fairing or your radio will fail and that involves alot of labor to take it out, ship it, and re-install it plus $200 (CVO discount price) to repair it at Iron Cross Audio.

Tom;
The new brackets from HD will work with a slight mod to them as in the photo:

Also you can install the amps on them :

And all completed:

hd-dude,

Thanks for the tip and great illustrations! I will go back to my stealer and reacquire the braces that I returned. I will feel better about the total job when I get those speaker support brackets in there.

Thank You,

Eh, no biggie, I looked around the fuse box and found the typical HD corrosion, lost the P&A fuse, coulda been when I hit the acc switch or just the crud in there, cleaned it out, ran to the store for fuses cause the cacksukkas left no spare fuse, replaced it a walla...for now. MOw it is raining...feh.

Brad,

I bought a pair of the new horizontal HD brackets that mount from under the speakers to the vertical fairing brace, but they will not fit with the Hawg Wired oversize magnets and the Hawg Wired mounting brackets for the satellite amps and crossovers, I returned them .....  >:(.

Next time I have the outer off I'll be looking to see how my repair is holding up. If not then I guess it will be "time".

Not looking forward to it with all the crap in there.
