Called the dealer today.  Bike has a scheduled ship date of April 29th.  According to the dealer, the bike will not arrive at the dealer until mid-May despite the fact that the dealer is located less than 3 hours from the plant in York, PA.  Dealer says this is a result of Harley not any longer having its own trucking fleet and the use of independents.

Does this seem goofy to anyone other than me?

What about a factory pickup???  BTW, walked the line in York a couple of years ago...didn't get to see CVO though.

I would give York a call and see if you can pick it up directly at the factory .... worth a shot.

They head out and then unload coming back toward the plant, dealerships around the area usually see the trucks nearly empty.  Don't make much sense but it's how they do it.

My bike is supposed to be delivered to the dealer May 20th.  I am buying from Lancaster Harley about 30 minutes from the York Plant.  I called my sales person and asked her if I could go to the plant and see if I could see the bike being built.  She said that they stopped that a few years ago.  I know I have been to the plant on a number of times for the factory tour and unfortunately the CVO section is up on the hill from the plant.  NO ONE can go up there.  Counting the days.....   I sold my 08 a few weeks ago and all I have is my chopper.  I love the chopper, but nothing like having the tunes kickin while going down the road on my geezer glide....

That's great for me ... come on down to FL and deliver first.  That does make sense now because my dealer told me once shipped out (5 May) it should only take 2-3 days for delivery.

hay SMsgt sounds like your bike and mine may be on the same truck my ship date is the 5th also im in concord nc and thats what my dealer said 2 to 3 days, pluse he said thy almost always come earler than what moco says

Yep right down from ya.  This is my 5th bike from Lancaster they have always treated me good.  I did buy one from Chesapeake, they were good too, but on this one they were asking way too much over sticker.  I will let you know when I get here.  I have been riding my chopper, but can't wait for the bagger again!!!!

BTW the dealer said the ship date would be 5/18.
